Afflicted with Illness Again

In the afternoon, it was time for class again. Although Su Chen was not thrilled, he had to attend. However, he couldn't deny that, having been away from campus for so long, he somewhat yearned to relive the experience. Yet, unfortunately, this place didn't quite feel like a campus. 

Su Chen felt it was more like an event organized for interaction among the big families. Of course, Su Chen was also curious about the purpose behind this sudden, intensive learning schedule. There must be some plan behind it.

Su Chen quickly entered the classroom and spotted Fang Han, who seemed unusually excited. Su Chen didn't know what he was up to. They had been classmates in their younger years. That guy should be the type to sleep through class; why was he so energetic now? Was there something good happening? Su Chen asked, but Fang Han was evasive, which left Su Chen somewhat speechless. 

It seemed Fang Han had an ulterior motive for being here. Without knowing why, Su Chen suddenly thought of Yang Yuxin. She was supposed to study here as well, but at Su Chen's strong insistence, she ended up not coming. What a joke that would have been. If Yang Yuxin had come, there would be no need to do anything else but be ready to prevent the plot from collapsing. 

The main reason was Qin Yu being here; Su Chen naturally wasn't comfortable with Yang Yuxin being present. Yang Yuxin was also upset about this for a long time, but she suddenly called last night, laughing over the phone, which confused Su Chen. Now thinking about it, could Fang Han's appearance be related to her? It shouldn't be. How could Fang Han betray me? Su Chen quickly dismissed the thought.

As soon as Su Chen sat down, he felt very unwell, even before the teacher's arrival. Qu Xiaoqi came to him then, looking very happy, "Thank you, Su Chen." Thank him for what? He felt like he had just been handed a 'nice guy' card and was confused about the situation. What's going on? 

He felt like he hadn't done anything. Qu Xiaoqi, seeing Su Chen's puzzled expression, didn't explain much. As long as she was happy, that was enough. She couldn't let Su Chen become suspicious, or it would be difficult to handle in the future. So, no matter what, she had to deceive Su Chen a bit. Looking at Su Chen's confused face, Qu Xiaoqi said with a smile, "It's nothing, I just suddenly wanted to thank you properly." 

Su Chen shook his head, thinking maybe he was being too sensitive. How could something happen all the time? First suspecting Fang Han, and now Qu Xiaoqi. He felt almost neurotic, and all the blame lay with these female leads. If it weren't for their character collapse, none of this would be happening.

Qu Xiaoqi almost laughed out loud when she heard this. 

Of course, you won't see Qin Yu. Last night, he tried to play the hero to save the damsel in distress again but got knocked out by her with a stun gun. Qu Xiaoqi was very happy. If it weren't for Su Chen's warning, she might have really been deceived.

Especially his eyes, which were completely bloodshot, even the whites were laced with red veins. He looked utterly disheveled. Moreover, his white clothes were stained with mud, creating a jarring contrast, but it couldn't help but draw the eye.

Yet, the most alarming part was that upon entering, Qin Yu paid no mind to the stares of others; instead, he calmly walked to his seat and sat down. Despite being in pain, Qin Yu would never miss class for anything. 

The reason was simple; he would not give Su Chen any chance to be alone with Qu Xiaoqi, especially since she was just rattled by last night's events and needed comfort. At such times, Qin Yu couldn't allow them to be together, or else all his efforts would have been in vain.

Qin Yu also believed that Qu Xiaoqi's actions the night before were not intentional, but out of sheer panic, she hadn't recognized him and thus lashed out. After these days of being together, Qin Yu realized Qu Xiaoqi was a kind-hearted girl. Seeing him in this state, she would surely come forward to show concern. 

Then, he could take the opportunity to explain the events of last night and make her feel guilty. After all, he had saved her, yet she treated him like this. Plus, his current appearance would surely tug at her heartstrings. Then, when he whispers sweet nothings, he would quickly capture her heart.

Of course, Qin Yu could ignore everyone else's gaze, but Su Chen's was the one he cared about the most, fearing his mockery. But Su Chen didn't pay him any attention. After all, the male lead's thought process is different from others. Su Chen wasn't worried about Qin Yu causing trouble anyway. If the character collapses and the plot breaks down, it's Qin Yu who gets punished, not him.

Thinking back to Fang Yufan's pitiable state, Su Chen couldn't help but want to laugh. He wondered if Fang Yufan had gotten over it yet. But just when Qin Yu was relieved that Su Chen didn't mock him, Fang Han, who had just arrived today, stood up and began to ridicule him.

"Egghead, look at your pathetic appearance; are you trying to be funny? Didn't you fall into a pit last night? And you didn't even bother to change your clothes, you're embarrassing us all." Fang Han wasn't alone; he had brought a gang with him. They started jeering.

"What's wrong, is your family too poor to afford water?" 

"Exactly, call our Brother Fang 'big brother', and we'll take you to get cleaned up, even with special service!" 

"Hahaha!"

These words immediately drew laughter from many people. Several young ladies, who had previously had a good impression of Qin Yu's warm demeanor, now looked at him with disdain. Only Qu Xiaoqi remained calm, although she was somewhat embarrassed. No, it was more like feeling guilty since she had just made him look like this. But she wouldn't pity him; it was his own fault. If Qin Yu hadn't played such a disgraceful trick, Qu Xiaoqi wouldn't have treated him this way.

"Shut up!" Qin Yu clenched his fist and glared at Su Chen. He didn't consider Fang Han worth his attention; he was just Su Chen's lackey, after all. His focus was still on Su Chen.

As Qin Yu coldly snorted, his powerful aura suddenly burst forth, silencing many in the room.

Including Su Chen, who was quite displeased. He couldn't figure out what Qin Yu was up to; he hadn't done anything, yet the other party seemed determined to blame everything on him. This was ridiculous. 

However, Fang Han didn't care about any of that and walked up to Qin Yu in a rage, saying, "Kid, looks like you're itching for a fight, daring to talk back to me. If you want to die that badly, I'll grant your wish." As he spoke, those who had come with Fang Han also stood up and surrounded Qin Yu, clearly looking for trouble.

"Not good, class is about to start." Su Chen stood up at this point and said directly, "This is a classroom, stop causing trouble and go back to your seat!" He feared these people were just here to make Qin Yu look good. After all, Qin Yu was the male lead! 

It must be said, though Qin Yu was always getting beaten, his strength strangely kept increasing. Su Chen had to admit, the protagonist's luck is indeed formidable. Fang Han didn't take things too far with Qin Yu. He had achieved his goal, after all.

"Zhou Mingjie, I think you better go back and wash up and sleep off that look. Although you don't care, it's too much for us. Better get lost!" 

"You..." Qin Yu was left speechless and did not think about resisting. Facing Su Chen now, he was a bit cowardly. Besides, with so many people on Su Chen's side, he really might end up worse off for trying. He decided to just endure it for now.

"Su Chen, what are you up to now? Making trouble, right?" A sharp voice rang out. Su Chen turned around, recognizing the voice all too well. It was Long Qingya, sent by his mother to watch over him. And today, she was bizarrely dressed in a short skirt, her long legs fully exposed to the air, seemingly unconcerned and unabashedly showing off her impressive figure.

Su Chen was pretty worldly and had seen a lot, but Long Qingya had always maintained a different image in front of him. Now she had changed so much. For a moment, Su Chen was truly shocked, almost involuntarily blurting out how beautiful she looked. He was just about to speak when he suddenly noticed a brief disturbance in Long Qingya's aura, which made him frown slightly. Something seemed to be wrong with this woman's body!

Wait. A woman with health issues, who also happens to know the male lead Qin Yu, who has some medical knowledge. This script, this plot, seems so fantastical and familiar. Long Qingya's illness is clearly not something just anyone can cure. She must have sought renowned doctors over the years, only to find no cure.

Everyone could only go home as the meeting dispersed. Su Chen naturally awoke, filled with vitality and no longer in the listless state he had been in before. But when he turned around, he noticed that Qin Yu had completely disappeared.
