EunJung walked down the familiar path alongside her best friend. She was wearing a hoodie and jeans that she had left at Steve's place at one of the many occasions she had stayed over at his house in the past.
EunJung and Steve were both walking in the direction of the school in complete silence. The raven haired girl had her wireless headphone in one of her ears and was bobbing her head along to the music, silently being watched by her best friend, who had a small smile on his face. The lack of attention never really bothered him since he was used to this.
EunJung's phone rang, breaking through the comfortable silence and causing her to come to an abrupt stop. All the colours drained from her face when she saw the caller ID. She did not plan on facing her mother until after school.
Steve's curiosity spiked and he casually peeked over her shoulder and said, "Answer it."
"What!?" EunJung yelled looking at the boy as if he had gone mad. "Steve, you know I can't-."
"It's fine, EunJung. It's not like it's the end of the world or something." He joked reassuringly.
"Jee thanks. For the record it really does feel like so" EunJung rolled her eyes good naturedly and drew in a shaky breath before accepting the call.
"Thank god you picked up! Are you okay EunJung? Where are you? Do you have any idea how worried I was." EunJung's mother yelled. The worry and relief evident in her voice.
"Sorry. I'm completely fine. I crashed at one of my friends' place last night so you don't have to worry." EunJung replied in a monotone. She sighed in relief at the fact her mother didn't bring up her stepbrothers and stepfather.
"Where are you right now?" Her mother asked once again.
She hesitated before answering "I'm heading to school."
"EunJung, did I not mention, you will be going to the same school as your brothers? I'll send them to pick you up." Said girl's mother said sternly.
So much for not bringing up those idiots, EunJung thought.
"What!? No! You did not mention that! And I'm not switching in the middle of term. I don't want anything to do with those pea brains anyway." Eun-Jung yelled, not caring to hide her hatred for them.
"They're your older brothers, EunJung. Stop being disrespectful. And my decision is final so you don't have any other choice." Her mother scolded.
"Is my life even my choice?" EunJung muttered under her breath.
"You'll come home with your brothers without hesitation. Am I clear?" Her mother stated sternly.
EunJung huffed and mumbled a small 'yes', clear enough so that her mother could hear it. She ended the call.
As soon as she ended the call, she grabbed Steve by the elbow and ran towards the school whilst the confused boy bombarded her with questions as he stumbled and struggled to stay at his feet.
When the school gate was finally in sight, EunJung slowed down and to Steve's relief, finally began to explain.
"Shouldn-." Steve tried to speak up at the end of her explanation but before he could voice his thoughts EunJung cut him off.
"No! Are you forgetting about the dark aura my so-called step brothers carried when I met them? There's no way in hell I'm agreeing to be anywhere near them." EunJung said, slowly walking towards the school gate.
She suddenly felt two arms around her shoulders and she was pulled into a firm chest. Unease settles at the pit of her stomach at the stranger's action. She slightly shifted her head so she could see who it was and she saw the familiar dragon-like eyes staring back at her.
"Daniel!!" EunJung squealed, turning around and engulfing him in a bear hug. "Where were you yesterday? We didn't have any lessons together as it was and then you didn't even show up at lunch."
"I skipped lunch because I had a lot of assignments to complete. At least we're stuck together for the first two lessons today." Yeonjun said breaking away from the hug.
EunJung opened your mouth to say something but all the words got stuck in her throat when she saw an SUV park not too far from where they were. It wasn't the expansive car that shocked her but the seven figures who emerged from within.
They walked straight towards the trio. Their expressions were cold as ever. EunJung quickly hid behind Steve and Daniel, in a pathetic attempt to hide, only to be met with puzzled expressions by her two friends.
"EunJung." James sternly said, making the said girl shrink, as she prayed that somehow they would forget she's there as she continued hiding behind her friends. She could tell both of her best friends were freaked out by the demanding voice and the mere presence of the seven.
Realisation dawned over Steve and he sent EunJung an apologetic and sympathetic look.
"Let's go, EunJung. I'm pretty sure I don't need to repeat myself." James once again said. EunJung emerged and stood next to Daniel and finally dared make eye contact with the elder boy.
"You can go. I'll just come back later." She said in a small voice. She mentally slapped herself for seeming so pathetic.
"That's not an option." Jack said, obviously annoyed.
Noah stepped forward grabbing EunJung's wrist, practically dragging her towards the SUV.
EunJung opened her mouth to yell something as she struggled to get her wrist free, but one look from the older man made her shut up.
She felt a warm hand around her other wrist and a tug pulled her out of Noah's hold with ease.
"Who the heck do you think you guys are to just show up and drag her like that?" Daniel glared daggers at the seven whilst holding EunJung protectively.
The seven boys seemed pissed off. Patience running thin, Noah reached into his jacket and pulled out a freaking gun pointing it towards them.
Why the heck is he carrying a freaking GUN. They're rich and all but it's freaking illegal to carry a gun around without a licence or does mister rich pants have a license too, EunJung thought, panic arose in her chest.
"Noah put that away or dad's gonna kill us." James scolded.
Um........did he just flipping casually just say that. Your brother was holding a GUN. A FLIPPING GUN and the most you've got to say is put it away or we're gonna get in trouble. Wow dude. Just wow. Are these guys insane!? This is beyond normal, EunJung mentally cursed.
She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard James addressing her.
The way he said her name sent a shiver down her spine and any ounce of resistance faded away.
She sighed and told Steve to fill in Daniel on what the heck was going on based on the poor boy's scared, confused and enraged expression.
She followed the seven into the car.
Little did they all know they were being watched from afar.
