<p>Nicholas rushed into his chambers, his heart pounding with fear. He had been away for hours, and he didn't know what Elizabeth might have done while he was gone. He had left her chained on the floor, hoping that she wouldn't be able to escape, but he was still doubtful.</p>

<p>As soon as he entered the room, he saw Elizabeth lying on the ground, still unconscious. He let out a sigh of relief and walked over to her, checking to make sure she was breathing. He verified that the chains were still intact before stepping back, his eyes lingering on her vulnerable and naked form. He felt a tug at his heart when he saw the bruise on her body, courtesy of him.</p>
