The training ground echoed with the thud of splintering wood as Elizabeth approached her brother, Arthur. His countenance was set hard, muscles working with controlled force as he broke planks. He looked up and met his sister's gaze, before his lips twisted in a frown.

"What's the matter?" Elizabeth inquired, concern etched on her voice.

Elizabeth stiffened, although she wasn't surprised. "I did it to help the Resistance. They promised assistance," she explained, gauging his reaction. "They said they could help us brother."

Disappointment furrowed Arthur's brow. "They should have told me before involving you in such a risky task," he lamented.

"They likely kept it from you because they knew you'd disagree," Elizabeth defended. "But we need their support."
