Him - 4

At least I know, she's in good hands.

Although, my heart bleeds every time I see her with him.

I wish I was the one who held her in my embrace.

I wish I was the one who kissed her cheek.

I wish I was the one who stayed by her side.

Nevertheless, we are never meant to each other.

When I realized my mistake, it was too late! If only I waited for her to wake up that morning and given her at least a proper explanation, I wouldn't have gotten hurt like this.

"He will issue the arrest warrant to her and drag her back to Fransco and serve time in house arrest," my assistant informed me about the aftermath of Karin and her father's incident. I can't believe there is this kind of father like General Sun who exists!

"Do whatever it takes, as long as we guarantee her freedom!"

"There is one way. The Queen had suggested this during the meeting..."

I look at the screen and wait. My secretary looked reluctant and fidgeting a bit.

"You have to end the engagement with her and withdraw her status as a citizen of Fransco."

"What?!"

"She only brings shame to her family. If she comes back to Fransco, people will badmouthing about her. Nothing is good in here, Your Highness. The House of Sun is full of scandals, and she doesn't seem helping at all!" I try to digest that information slowly.

"Why must we withdraw her as a citizen? She's not even selling intelligence or killing people! She just fought with her father, and that's not even a fight! She protected herself from him!" I point out the unfair judgment made by the Royal Council.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness..."

I slump on my chair, eyes linger at her who is sleeping soundly in bed. My eyes started to tear, remembering all those promises that I told her. If I walk away, this will be the biggest betrayal ever!

"I think, we need to talk. Gather everyone and we'll discuss it," I told my secretary and then quickly cut the call.

A price for her freedom is my undying love for her. I thought when I waited for Karin at the airport and she never showed up, she already made her decision to move on.

Not until I learned about her accident. What makes me regret the most is, that she's actually on her way to meet me, but ends up going to a different airport. I can't hide the guilt inside me. That will scar me for the rest of my life.

When I visited her at the hospital, the doctor told me that she was having major surgery that made her forget some fragments of her memories. When I asked more about the details, the doctor told me that she couldn't remember what happened to her for the past 2 months. Which means, all of our memories melt just like that. She never remembers meeting me.

It's like I never existed!

"Khit..."

Yug patted my shoulder. My eyes never leave from her silhouette. I watch her inside the cafe, talking and smiling with others. Like nothing happened to her.

"I'll never stop loving her, Yug. She's the one," I said.

"What about Ivry?"

"My mom likes her. But, I don't think I can love her as much as I love Karin," I could hear Yug sigh as he slowly drove the car and left the cafe.

When Ivry told me that she wanted to invite her friend for lunch, I didn't expect it to be Karin. She asked me to buy a bouquet as a decoration for my dull interior, at least for her.

My house is not actually dull. It's just the vibe is kinda cold. I never care to redecorate, and I don't think I wanna do much because I like the concept. Ivry loves something classical with a touch of royalty, as she came from a royal family and used to sleep on the princess bed instead of a floating bed.

Modern style is not her style.

But since she insisted, I had no objection to pleasing her. So, I went straight to the flower shop, and lucky for me, carnation is still available.

While waiting for my bouquet, I saw a familiar statue, talking to the phone across the street.

It was Karin.

My heart beat so fast, I felt like I'd pass out. The way she's talking on the phone... Maybe she's talking to Jun. The way she smiled... The way she's stood there...

I was soaking with overwhelming feeling. Tears slowly fall from my eyes. I quickly wipe it away. I turned my back away so no one noticed me.

"Excuse me, can you pack this carnation and combine it with some baby's breath?" I asked the florist.

"I'm sorry miss, but this man has already booked the flower..."

I hid myself at the side of the shop so she wouldn't notice me. She was standing there, only five feet apart from me.

But all I can do is watch her.

"Hm... Okay... What about this sunflower?"

"Certainly. How many flowers do you want?"

"Three will do..."

Sunflower. Her favorite flower. The sunflower that always follows the sun. A symbol of loyalty and cherish. That's what she once told me when I asked her why she loves sunflowers, not roses.

I remember everything. Every single thing. There is no way I would forget about all of her. Her scents, her smiles, her rant...

How I miss her so much!

"Order's ready!"

I quickly grab the bouquet. I can't be around her any longer, or I might lose control. My heart was dying to hug her. So much that I felt suffocated.

I don't know. Perhaps I was drifting away with my thoughts, but the next thing that happened was her standing in front of me, with a clear umbrella took a shield behind her back.

A car was passing by and splashed the puddle.

And she was there to protect me from getting wet.

If I could describe my feeling that time...

She was there, staring at me with her worried eyes. Unconsciously, I pull her closer to me. God, I miss her! The feeling was too much! I couldn't even think of any words to describe it.

I was lost and soaked in her eyes.

My heart shattered when she pushed me away. Come into my epiphany state, I did realize I was just a stranger to her. To cross the line between us, that's wrong. When I saw a puddle at the back, I had no choice but to pull her back to me so she could avoid the mishap.

An electrifying feeling lingered around us. I could feel it so strong. I'm still in too much love with Karin. I know I would never move on from her.

That's why, when I saw her at my house, I resolved.

I wanna win her heart once again. This time, I will fight the world and rewrite my destiny.
