CHAPTER:14

I devoured my dinner as swiftly as possible and hurried to my room. I grabbed a large bag from my cupboard and began compiling a list of the things I needed to pack. I prefer to organize my packing this way to ensure that I don't forget anything and to save time later. Louis entered the room and offered his assistance. He returned my forgotten phone and I noticed missed calls from Abby and Walter, inquiring about my participation in the trip. I couldn't get through to them by phone, so I texted them to reveal my surprise appearance on the trip as their "mentor," adding a playful tone.

With Louis's help, I started arranging and packing my items, a task that would have taken hours alone, but with his assistance, it was completed swiftly. I double-checked my list one final time, expressing gratitude to Louis for his help. He replied with a "You're welcome" and mentioned he was leaving, as it was getting late and we needed rest. I agreed, walked him out while bubbling over with excitement, and wished everyone goodnight for the last time before heading to my bedroom.

Upon entering my room, I collapsed onto my bed, exhausted but unable to sleep due to the overwhelming excitement. Thoughts of the upcoming trip consumed my mind—traveling, experiencing new things, and having a campfire. Lost in contemplation, I eventually drifted into sleep after some time. The next morning, I woke up to the sound of my alarm beeping at four in the morning.
