Home Nightmare

As Mariline's vision gradually cleared, she found herself in her room. It was a surprise, but she brushed it off, feeling utterly exhausted after the nightmare she had just endured. Her mother approached and sat beside her, her expression filled with concern. "Mmm, this feels weird. Why are you all in my room?" Mariline asked, pointing at them with her fingers.

For the first time, both Adrenia and Carmalo asked her, "How do you feel? Are you alright?" Mariline felt an inexplicable sense of importance, and tears welled up in her eyes.

She scolded herself inwardly, questioning why she was crying over this. Her inner voice chimed in, reminding her that it could be a trick or an overreaction. Mariline wiped away her tears and gazed at her siblings.

"Yes, now can you please leave? I have math. Oh my god, I have math. How did I get here?" A sudden realization struck her.

"I can't skip class; it will tarnish my record. No, no, no, this is bad." Panic washed over her, and then she felt a pair of hands touch her shoulder. It was Marley, her best friend.

"Relax, girl. Mrs. Grunch already called the principal," she reassured Mariline. She exhaled a breath she hadn't realized she was holding, feeling relieved. As her family lingered in the room, something seemed different about their expressions. It was as if they had just seen a ghost.

Perhaps it was due to her scared demeanor during the shocking revelations or because she had collapsed. What she didn't know was that they were aware of her destiny — who she truly was, something she had yet to discover.

Finally, her mom asked everyone to give Mariline some rest and join them downstairs for a meal. Mariline watched as each one of them slipped out through her door.

The events that unfolded were beyond belief. Adrenia froze in shock s she tried remembering what had happened to her sister.

Flashback:

She had specifically instructed Mari to dress appropriately and not embarrass me before joining us for breakfast. Growing impatient with her delay, Adrenia abandoned the kitchen and headed to her car instead. A few minutes later, Carmalo sneaked in, granting her some relief as one more pest was left to go.

"Carmalo, where is Mariline?" Adrenia inquired.

Unsurprisingly, her disrespectful and obnoxious brother called out to Mari with a cursed word. Irritated, Adrenia shot him a stinging glare, but he only grinned. What was wrong with him? Suddenly, she noticed Mari appearing at the entrance, looking absolutely stunning. That's the kind of sister she desired. Adrenias' phone chimed, diverting her attention to a message. It was Jake ; her smile widened, he had been her boyfriend since their second year of high school. Lost in her daydreams about him, Adrenia reveled in the feeling of love.

beep- Jake: "Hey babe (winking emoji),  I'm sorry I won't be able to make it for our date today. Got some extra training to do."

Adrenias' heart sank into her stomach. she had eagerly looked forward to spending time alone with him.

beep- Me: "That's alright, maybe Saturday afternoon.  Work those muscles for me. (blowing kiss emoji) Love ya." Adrenia chuckled at her own words as she waited for his reply.

*Jake: " (laughing with tears emoji) And that world, is why I love my sweet Adrenia."

She giggled, delighted by his message. He always seemed to take a liking to Mariline for some strange reason, which is why Adrenia was often been rude to her. Unfair, she knew, but she and Mari were almost the same age, implying that, Mari could be with him if he ever proposed. Silly thoughts, Adrenia. Snap out of it.

"Adrenia! Adrenia, Adrenia!" Adrenia snapped back to reality at the sound of Carmalo's voice. Horror etched on his face with his eyes wide open, erasing all traces of his usual annoying behavior. She followed his gaze to find Mariline on the ground, her arms wrapped around her legs. She trembled, screaming in distress. Panic gripped her. She rushed with  Carmalo to Mari side, and it was as if she was in a world separate from theirs.

Mari screams alerted their parents, who also hurried outside. Adrenia noticed Marley, who usually goes straight to school without any detours, standing nearby with a worried expression. How did she end up here? She was also a nerd like her sister. Carmalo carried Mari to her room, surprising Adrenia with his strength.

Inside the room, Mari continued to scream on the bed, and everyones heart ached like a bee sting. Despite Adrenias' rudeness, she loved her sister dearly. Looking at Carmalo, she could see the same emotion mirrored on his face. And then... it happened. Everyone all gasped in shock. Mariline was enveloped in blazing flames, which suddenly transformed into ice, wind, water, dust, and even electric currents. Words failed to describe what they witnessed.

"Elimen," Adrenia unintentionally spoke, unaware of the impact it would have all heads turned in her direction.

"What did you say?" her parents demanded.

"I said Elimen. Mari is Elimen," Adrenia croaked, barely audible. "The dreams..." she whispered, but it carried enough volume for everyone to hear.

"What dreams?" her father's rage was palpable. He sensed that she was hiding something. Unable to bear his severe gaze, Adrenia spilled everything, recounting the details of Mari's dream. The room fell into a deafening silence. It was evident their parents were on the verge of a panic attack. They forbade all those present from uttering a word to Mari until they could figure out what to do.

"They will find my baby," their mother's voice trembled, instilling fear in Adrenia. She appeared utterly terrified. Mr Grunch  placed his arm around her, attempting to offer comfort.

Carmalo on the other hand nudged Adrenia, and as she turned to give him a glare, her anger softened when she noticed him pointing towards Mariline. She was regaining consciousness. Adrenia gaspsed and immediately alerted their mother, who informed their father.
