Chapter-21

Nirav waved the feather, and a shimmering golden hue enveloped the area, cloaking it in an enchantment that rendered it invisible to mortal eyes. He pushed open the heavy door with force; it creaked ominously on its hinges. The door opened and he saw her in the candlelight standing near the windows staring outside, it's her Akira.

Akira walked towards them, her instincts screaming that danger loomed ahead. As she stepped closer, Nirav surged in from the shadows, his sword gleaming ominously hovering near her neck. The sharp tip pressed into her skin, a chilling reminder for her.

"Who are you? What is your connection with Esha?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. The intensity in his eyes burned like fire, leaving no room for falsehoods.

His sudden question about Esha baffled her. For the first time, she was scared for real. She knew the truth would bring disaster. Her heart raced, each pulse a throbbing reminder of her identity. "Who a… are… you? Wh... what do you want?" Her voice trembled.

"Answer me," he growled, frustration lacing his tone, his grip tightening as if he might draw blood. In that moment, with danger so palpable, she knew she had to choose her words carefully—or risk everything.

"Please don't kill me... I am Akira, a small flower fairy with the soul of a water lily. Lord Esha is our queen. Please... spare... me..."

Seeing her tears, Nirav felt a pang of guilt. He loosened the sword from her neck but remained unconvinced. "My feather won't be wrong. I'll ask again: what is your connection to the late floral Lord Esha?" His voice softened slightly.

So he is searching for my mother... The phoenix feather must have detected my blood, she thought.

"I... was adopted by Lord Nila ... and have lived in the chamber of the floral palace, the abode of Lord Esha, since the day I can remember. That's all I know..."

Hearing her answer, Nirav withdrew his sword.

"Lord..." Adhyant pulled Nirav out of the room.

"Something is not quite right here..." Adhyant said, looking confused.

"Lord, from what I know about the floral realm, her statement doesn't make sense."

"Why is that, Adhyant?" Nirav asked.

"Lord, in the floral realm, Esha was not just a queen; she was regarded as the supreme saint. She was so highly respected and admired that even after 2,000 years since her death, Nila has still not ascended to the throne. How is it possible for Nila to allow a fairy to live in Esha's palace?"

"Yes, Nila is too obsessed with her lord; she fought against both Heaven and the fox tribe," Nirav nodded in agreement.

"But, my lord, that fairy is not powerful; she's merely a simple water lily. She doesn't seem to be lying."

"Hmm... it looks like we need to keep a close eye on this, Lord Akira..."
