Chapter-24

The strange connection between Nir and Akira sparked Nirav's curiosity. He wanted to learn more about their story and developed an odd sense of familiarity towards Nir.

"Even though I can put aside my prejudice against him, others may not feel the same way. To vouch for him, I need to know more about him. Akira, what do you know about Nir?"

"About Nir, I can't provide much information. I met him at the borders of the human realm. It was my first time outside the floral realm, and I didn't know much about the human world. When I arrived, I met some people at the borders. They spoke to me and offered me food. I thought they were kind, so I accepted it." She paused, and her face changed; it turned as red as a tomato. Nirav and Adhyant guessed what would come next.

"Were you drugged and abducted?"

"Yes!" she slammed the table. "I never expected humans could be this cruel. I lost consciousness, and when I woke up, I was tied up in an old house with Nir nearby; he was also bound and injured. We managed to escape together, but they found us again. In an attempt to save me, Nir was further injured, but we somehow got away. I took him with me and cared for him. Once he was healed, he didn't want to leave.

I guess he's similar to me; while traveling, he was hunted and injured by a group of selfish humans."

Nirav found the loyalty of the little demon admirable, but at the same time, he wanted to laugh at Akira's innocence. Her flushed face added to his suppressed laughter.

"I can bring him, but under one condition..."

"Lord..." Adhyant raised his voice.

"Yes..." Akira replied, confronting Adhyant.

"Do you agree?"

"Hmmm... I know you won't make it difficult for me."

"In heaven, I will be taking Nir as my pet."

"What?" Their voices echoed in disbelief.

My lord has gone crazy, Adhyant thought.

"Only by taking him with me can I take responsibility for bringing a demon to heaven."

"Ok..." Akira replied.

"Master... you sold me... to enter heaven..." Nilay looked at her with sobbing eyes.

The discussions had concluded. A new tale was about to unfold with their fates entangled. Would it end the debts of the past, or start a new story of repeated regrets?
