In a post-apocalyptic world, Princess Sofia fancies a commoner on the streets and follows him to the Mountains of Death from where she ends up in a 17th-century mansion, where the commoner - Heinrich - is the owner of the mansion and the Princess is forced to work for him.

“What do you want from me?” The Princess asked frustratingly. 

“You must think you are the main character or something.” The man chuckled, “Sofia, I want nothing from you. You followed me. I did not abduct you.” 

“I made a mistake. I request you to send me back.” 

“I cannot,” The man replied. “It is not under my command. It comes and goes.”

“What does that mean?” 

“That means you are stuck here. Probably for life.”

Heinrich completely ignored her, slipped the keys to the room into the little pocket of his coat, and tried to walk away from the crime scene. The Princess quickly grabbed his arm, trying to reach out for his pocket with her other hand. 

Heinrich immediately grabbed her hand and pulled her toward himself, then pushed her to the wall, holding both her hands to it. He frowned at her with all the rage he had in his body. But it didn’t hide the lingering sorrow in his eyes. They could tear up any moment now. 

The Princess didn’t know if she wanted to feel sad for him or resent him. He was a confusing man. 

“L-Let me go…” The Princess sheepishly demanded. 

“Why?” Heinrich asked with anger. “Who told you to meddle in my affairs?”

Heinrich sighed, "Decide for me." He said, "Should I explain myself and avoid resentment, or should I just walk away because it is a hassle to explain?"

The Princess blinked a few times, "Huh?" She murmured, "Are you indirectly asking me to stop asking you questions? In that case, you should explain yourself."

Heinrich nodded, "I hate explaining myself. Do you know why?"

"If I explain myself to one person, others ask me for explanations too." Heinrich said, "Is it not sad? I am held questionable by everyone."

"It is because your actions are questionable." The Princess said, "My question is very thoughtful. I want to know why you were not more loving toward Miss Teresia. Had you been more loving, she might want to live-"

"No." Heinrich shook his head, "It does not matter. When you live for 800 years, temporary feelings do not matter. The outcome ought to be the same either way."
