Misery

Killian was constantly nodding while remaining quiet. He had been doing this every single day.

Wake up.

Check up on the Princess.

Listen to her tirade.

Watch her sobbing her eyes out.

Call it a day.

Go to bed.

Repeat.

It was miserable. The physicians went in and out of the Princess's room in vain. Her fever never went down. She never stopped sobbing. She never stopped complaining about Heinrich's injustice. And Heinrich never showed up to check up on her.

The plague and war were still ongoing. Heinrich kept himself busy with official matters and left the Princess for Killian to handle. It had been three weeks since Teresia's passing. Yet, the Princess couldn't bring herself out of despair. She immersed herself in her daily routine.

"Leave me alone, Killian." The Princess ordered Killian while sobbing. "I am tired."
