Cade kept Darlene up for most of the night, and with so many people around her all day, she found it quite overwhelming.
Her body was still a little hard to adapt to, and she had been sleepy for a long time and wanted to rest.
When Cade spoke to her, she was almost asleep and did not respond.
Cade came to the bed and whispered in her ear, "Mom, there's really a car outside. There was a man standing outside the car who seemed to want to come in. He was about the same height as dad. I wondered if he was there to see mom or uncle?"
Darlene's mind finally sobered up a bit. She struggled to open her eyes and looked at the child lying in front of her. His dark eyes were staring at her seriously.
Only then did she sit up from the bed. "Someone's coming?"
Cade nodded. "Yeah, I can't see clearly from a distance, but it seems to be a very tall man. Why didn't he ring the doorbell when he was standing outside the door?"
