Ella's gossipy nature was ablaze, but her concern for Melody's well-being still lingered at the back of her mind.
Jerry's wife had fled their home and was involved with another man, who she was now pregnant with.
Men had good faces, so what if Jerry got angry and thought badly of Melody?
She waited until Jerry's figure completely disappeared at the end of the corridor before knocking on Melody's door.
Melody, assuming it was Jerry who was persistently stalking her, angrily shouted at the door, "Are you not done? Don't bother me!"
Ella whispered through the door, "Mel, it's me, I'm Ella."
After saying this, within a minute, the door opened.
Melody looked at her apologetically. "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you like that."
Ella nodded understandingly and said, "It's okay, Mel. Let me in first?"
Melody unlocked the door and let Ella in before locking it again.
