Chapter 2 Rebirth

Crimson blood flowed from her forehead, and her gaze was instantly drawn to the broken glass bottle on the ground outside the window.

‘I'm sorry, I'm sorry, baby, Mommy is coming to be with you...’

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, ah!!" Callie sat up in bed with a start, drenched in sweat. Her heavy breathing made her chest heave violently, as if she had just experienced something terrifying.

"Mr. Cooper, wait a minute!"

The door was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and an angry Dane burst in.

"Callie!" Seeing the pained expression on her face as she huddled on the bed clutching her head, his expression tightened, and he pushed the person blocking his way aside, striding over.

The moment she heard his voice, Callie, who had been sobbing, looked up abruptly, her swollen eyes filled with disbelief.

‘D-Dane!?’ Callie felt surprised.

"Callie, where do you feel uncomfortable?" Looking at her pale face, Dane's trembling hand touched her cheek.

"Honey, are you here to pick me up, to pick me up..." ‘To the hell?’

Tears streamed down Callie's face as she reached out and clung to Dane's shirt, as if afraid he would leave.

A hint of surprise flashed in Dane's eyes, "Yes, I’m here to pick you up and take you home."

"Go home, go home..." Callie's tears fell like a dam breaking, unstoppable.

"Don't cry, I promise you, I promise you, Callie." ‘I agree to divorce; please don't scare me like this anymore.’

Dane's eyes reddened. Ever since he forced her to marry him, she had been constantly thinking about divorce. Alex Eaton's return to the country had only exacerbated the situation.

His pride wouldn't allow her to leave him, let alone allow her to be with another man after leaving him. So he firmly rejected her request.

But within days, news of her suicide attempt reached him. The moment he heard it, the fearless Dane suddenly felt as if he had plunged into an ice cellar!

He had lost, truly lost.

He thought that by forcing her, she would eventually accept him.

But for two years of marriage, he had lived every day in torment.

He knew it was time to let go, but seeing her crying her heart out in his arms, why did he still feel so much pain, almost suffocating?

Feeling his warmth, the scenes before her death kept replaying in her mind. Callie tightly wrapped her arms around his neck, crying as if she were about to faint, unable to distinguish between reality and illusion.

Dane didn't understand why she was crying so heartbrokenly. He had already agreed to her request, so why was she still crying? Shouldn't she be happy?

His heart ached and soured. He picked her up and left the hospital room, ordering, "Notify the military doctor to go to the Coopers’ house."

"Yes! Mr. Cooper."

...

"Mr. Cooper, Mrs. Cooper is fine. She was just startled, which led to an emotional outburst. A few days of rest should be enough for her to recover."

Seven or eight doctors stood trembling by the bedside, carefully answering.

What on earth had happened to Mrs. Cooper, and why was Mr. Cooper so worried?

They wiped the cold sweat from their foreheads and kept their heads down, not daring to say another word.

Dane's men around them all breathed a sigh of relief.

Just now, seeing Mrs. Cooper crying in Mr. Cooper's arms so heartbreakingly, it had really scared them. They thought something big had happened, and the whole Cooper family was in chaos.
