Chapter 3 Watch Out for the Dangerous Beauty

The atmosphere in the room was heavy, with Callie sleeping quietly on the bed.

Her face was as pale as paper, and if it weren't for her faint breathing, she would look like a peaceful corpse.

Dane clenched her hand tightly, his face even paler than hers.

"Mr. Cooper, the Bryan family is here," Clare whispered as she entered the room.

Upon hearing the words "The Bryan family," Dane's eyes dimmed and he looked at everyone, saying, "Everyone, leave."

Finally, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and walked out.

Dane took one last look at Callie, let go of her hand, and walked out quickly.

As soon as the door closed, Callie, who had been seemingly deep asleep, suddenly opened her eyes.

Downstairs in the hall, Mrs. Bryan and Elsa Bryan stood with worried expressions.

Dane walked down the stairs, immediately catching Elsa's attention. He was tall and well-built, with a bronze complexion and sharp, striking features like a Greek sculpture. His dark, mysterious eyes exuded an untamed, seductive charm.

Elsa's eyes sparkled a sense of love as she shyly lowered her head.

"Dane~" she cooed, causing Dane's men behind him to shudder. After receiving a dangerous glare from their boss, they immediately straightened up.

‘Doesn’t this woman know that Mr. Cooper has been married? Her flirtation is too blatant!’ Dane's men thought.

"Dane, how is Callie doing? Is she feeling better?" Mrs. Bryan glared at her daughter and approached Dane with a pleasant smile.

"Callie is fine."

"How could she be fine, Dane? Didn't Callie try to commit suicide over the divorce? She's so careless. The media outside is going crazy."

Elsa interrupted.

Dane's eyes darkened.

"Callie has been spoiled by us. She was wrong this time. We hope you won't blame her, Dane." Mrs. Bryan said with a worried expression.

‘Who do you think you are to say this?’ Dane didn't even lift his head, thinking about Callie's recent changes.

"Yeah, if it weren't for Alex, whom Callie has been thinking about, she wouldn't have done this," Elsa added with a regretful expression.

"Are you done?" Dane didn't even glance at them. Although what they said was true, he couldn't deny that their words made him uncomfortable. Those who made him uncomfortable had only two outcomes: death or get lost.

For Callie's sake, he'd let them leave.

His eyes lazily looked at the two women with a hint of danger.

They shivered and said no more.

"Callie needs to rest. You shouldn't disturb her. Clare, show them out." It was clear that he was asking them to leave.

The two women looked embarrassed.

Even after Callie had done such a disgraceful thing and disregarded his feelings, he still protected her. Elsa gritted her teeth in anger.

"Wait, Dane. Since Callie has gone through such a big ordeal, she must be determined. You know she usually listens to us. Why don't we let Elsa stay and take care of her for a few days, just to prevent her from doing anything foolish again?" Mrs. Bryan suggested hastily.
