Chapter 128

Adan's POV

Long, soft brown hair sprawled out above her head as her body - covered with my jersey - nestled against mine. Resting her head on my arm, with my other around her small waist, her chest rose and fell slowly. The sky was losing its colour and the breeze had turned cold and sharp. I didn't want to wake her; seeing her asleep in my arms stirred familiar feelings inside of my chest and stomach. My eyes were heavy, but I just couldn't take them off her. My wolf was quietly soothing hers, completely in his element of being the protective, attentive mate he always wanted to be.

The only thing that wasn't silent was my heartbeat. It felt like a drum in my ears. I couldn't even take a deep breath to calm myself because whenever I did, that incredible mix of vanilla and roses attacked my senses and the last thing I wanted was to wake her just so I could kiss her again. Even the idea of that had every inch of me craving her.
