There were still traces of sadness in his eyes, but I could also see the happiness he refused to hide from me as he chuckled.
Thankfully, that stupid conversation didn't carry on for much longer. Especially not after I drove my foot into Jaxson's shin. Twice. Just so he got the hint.
After dinner, we made our way back into the living room. A full stomach and endless conversations had even eased the tension between Adan and Jaxson. They hadn't uttered a word to each other, but things hadn't turned into a bare knuckle fight between them either.
Feeling blissfully happy and a little confident, I chose to sit next to Adan on the couch. I could feel and hear his wolf tending to mine and it wasn't only my emotional or mental senses that were being catered to, but with Adan's fingers subtly tracing across the bottom of my back, my physical senses where also being spoilt. We were even lost in our own private conversation.
