Chapter 6 Popeye the Dave

At the mention of drinking, Rosemary blushed shyly.

When the two got married, Rosemary thought that Charles was idle all day and never let him touch her. At a family dinner later, they drank a lot and slept together. Then they had Betty.

After having a child, the contradiction between the couple eased a lot, but Rosemary never had sex with Charles.

Charles could do nothing but watch his beautiful wife, who made him suffer badly.

After driving his wife home, Charles found that it was still early to pick up Betty, so he went to a construction place called "Golden Bay".

Charles came for Dave.

Dave’s full name is Dave Hernandez, Charles's Playmate since childhood. It was just because his IQ was lower than normal people and he never considered the consequences when he wanted do something. So, he was called "Big Fool Dave".

After Charles left home, Dave came with him. There was no way for him to make a living. He could only sell his labor and do some hard work in the society to make money.

When Charles arrived at the construction site, he saw a group of people gathering there and watching something. He squeezed in and saw Dave lying on the ground and eating the overturned food.

"Dave!"

Tears welled up in Charles's eyes. He stepped forward and helped Dave up.

He glared at the people around him and shouted, "You are his colleagues. How can you do this to him?"

A man in a red helmet said coldly, "It's your brother's fault. He accidentally bumped into Mr. Anderson when he was carrying the cement."

Charles recognized him. He was the foreman of Dave.

Dave was about to continue to eat the food on the ground, but was stopped by Charles.

"Young Master, they asked me to finish the meal, or they wouldn't give me any salary."

The man next to him sneered that Dave called Charles Young Master. Everyone knew that Charles was a gigolo.

Charles asked, "who let you eat?"

"Mr. Anderson!"

"Take me to see him!" Said Charles.

Dave was an orphan and grew up in an orphanage. Charles's father took him back home for cultivation when he saw that Dave was born with great strength. Charles gets along well with Dave. Dave only listens to Charles.

Dave shouted at the workers angrily, "Get out of the way!"

His shout was like a thunder in a sunny day, and the workers were frightened to retreat.

It seems that they want to get even with Mr. Anderson.

When they arrived at a moving house, they heard a noise coming from inside. It is the sound of playing mahjong.

Logan Anderson, the construction director, shouted, "I hu-ed!" After saying that, he pushed the Mah-Jongs happily.

Before Logan's desk mate asked for money, a pair of big hands reached out under the table and suddenly overturned the table, and the whole table instantly fell to the ground.

When Logan saw clearly that the person who lifted the table was "Big Fool Dave", he was so angry that he cursed, "Big Fool Dave, you wanna die? I just hu-ed! "

Charles then walked in and said to Logan in a cold voice, "Mr. Anderson."

Logan had met Charles several times, because when Charles had nothing else to do, he would always come to see Dave. Therefore, they were familiar with each other on the construction site.

"Oh, it's you! Take your stupid brother away, or I'll throw him into the river to feed the fish."

Ignoring Logan's threat, Charles said to Dave, "Dave, move!"

Logan was kicked to the ground by Dave.

The two arms of Dave were born with great strength, and he was nicknamed "Popeye the Dave". Therefore, generally, he would use his feet when fighting, and only in very special cases would he use his fists.

The reason Dave is called "Popeye the Dave" is his arms have great strength. If Dave punched someone, he would be knocked down with one fist, injured with two fists, and killed with three fists. Ordinary people couldn't withstand the three punches from Dave at all.

There was a box of leftovers on the windowsill. Charles took it in his hand, walked up to Logan and stepped on the back of his neck. Then, he put the lunch box in front of Logan and said, "Mr. Anderson, since you let Dave eat the food that has been thrown on the ground, then you should also have a taste of it, right?"

"You are fucking crazy! Believe it or not, I will call for help and beat you too bad to take care of yourselves. What are you waiting for? Beat them!"

The three people who were playing mahjong with Logan rushed to Dave at the same time. As a result, they were kicked out by Dave one by one.

The workers who came to see the fun were all stunned. They only knew that the "Big Fool Dave" had great strength. But they didn't expect that he was a hidden master in fighting.

Charles sneered, "Mr. Anderson, are you kidding me? You're too young! How about you finish the food on the ground today? Otherwise, I'll ask Dave to throw you into the river to feed the fish."

Dave was a big fool with a defect in his intelligence, but he was obedient to Charles's words. If Charles asked Dave to throw Logan into the river, Dave would definitely be able to do it.

"Logan Anderson, my patience is limited. If you don't eat the food on the ground in three minutes, I will immediately throw you into the river."

Although Logan was not convinced, he had no choice but to lick the food on the ground bit by bit.

After Logan finished, Charles said to him, "Mr. Anderson, from today on, Dave won't work here. You'd better transfer his salary to his bank account. Otherwise, I don't mind coming to the construction site again and let you eat the food on the ground." Then he swaggered out of the construction site with Dave. No one dared to stop them.

After leaving the construction site, Charles asked Dave to get on the car.

Dave grinned and asked Charles, "Young Master, where did you get the car?"

"I borrowed it!"

"If I don't work in the construction site, how can I live in the future?"

Charles said, "I have money now. If you don't have money, just ask me for it."

"Really?" With an excited look on his face, he praised Charles, "Young Master is Young Master! I know Young Master will be rich in the future."

Charles felt sad. If it weren't for the fact that Dave insisted on following him, he wouldn't have suffered so much.

Charles withdrew twenty thousand dollars from the bank and gave it to Dave, asking him to move to nearby. He also reminded Dave that if he runs out of money, he must ask him for it. He didn't dare to give too much money to Dave. He was afraid that someone with ulterior motives would swindle the money away.

Just then, Sue, Betty’s teacher in the kindergarten, called Charles.

On the other side of the phone, Sue's voice sounded anxious. She said to Charles, "Mr. Garcia, something bad happened! One of the children's father beat Betty."

"What?"

Hearing this, Charles was furious.

Betty was lovely and obedient. Charles never hit Betty even she made mistake. How dare someone hurt my daughter? They are done.

"Mr. Garcia, calm down! I..."

Charles hung up the phone before Sue could finish her words.

Charles drove at a high speed. He ran many red lights and soon arrived at RIVERDALE COUNTRY SCHOOL in New York City.

When they arrived, Sue was already waiting at the gate. Seeing that Charles came with a worker, she walked up to Charles and persuaded him, "Mr. Garcia, here is the thing. Please listen to me!"

Charles patiently listened to Sue telling the whole story.

It turned out that Betty accidentally knocked one of her classmates down when she competed with a friend for a toy. Fortunately, Sue found it in time and asked Betty to apologize to the child. How could she know that the little boy wouldn't give up after Betty apologized. When Sue didn't notice, he fought with Betty again. But he didn't surpass Betty in fighting. The boy cried and wanted to see his parents.

When the boy's father arrived at the kindergarten, he saw two bloody marks on his son's arm. He didn't hear anything and slapped Betty two times. He also asked Sue to call her parents and take his child to the hospital for a check-up and a tetanus shot.

After listening to the whole story, Sue saw that Charles's face was gloomy and was about to erupt. She persuaded him, "Mr. Garcia. It's normal for children to fight. When you meet him, you must negotiate with him and never fight again. If you lose, you have to go to the hospital. If you win, you have to go to jail."

With one hand in his pocket, Charles said to Sue, "Miss Lyon, thank you for your kindness. Please take me to see the child's father!"
