Chapter 15 The Birthday Party

"You."

Macey was furious and stared at Trent sharply and angrily. He never thought that it would be Lesley who ordered her to let Trent go.

This shameless bastard said that she was eye candy, and he asked her not to be biased.

Even if Macey was angry, she couldn't vent her anger.

She was a policewoman, and she had to carry out the order.

So, Macey watched as Trent swaggered out of the door.

After he left, Macey took out her phone and made a call.

Lesley, the man third in command of the police station, stood in front of the window with a cup of tea in his hand. He watched Trent walk out of the door and then left in a taxi.

When he received Macey's call, he frowned. She must not understand my decision, Lesley thought.

"Macey, what's the matter?"

Macey asked, "Lesley, why did you let him go? Do you know what this bastard just said about me? He is a suspect."

Lesley took a sip of tea and said, "Macey, there are some things that we can't interfere with, and there are some people we can't investigate. They might not be like what you think. I won't say much. You should know some rules."

Lesley thought that Macey could understand his words.

As soon as he said so, Macey was a bit shocked.

She immediately thought of something and asked, "Do you mean that this guy's background is not ordinary?"

"But..."

After saying this, Macey felt that something was wrong. "So what if he's different from ordinary people? No matter who he is, he has to be punished by law if he committed crimes. I have to investigate him."

Lesley let out a long sigh. "Macey, I think you are too tired from handling the case recently. How about this? I will give you a day off. Have a rest and come back to work tomorrow."

"No, Lesley, you have to tell me..."

Macey wanted to ask more questions, but before she could open her mouth, Lesley hung up the phone.

Lesley actually hung up the phone for Trent.

It immediately made Macey even more curious about Trent.

According to the information she had investigated, Macey thought that Trent was only the younger brother of the matrilocal son-in-law of the Lennard family. Moreover, when he arrived at the Lennard's house yesterday, he went through the employment procedures and became a cleaner.

If his identity was not ordinary, he would not be a cleaner.

How could Trent get involved with Kiley?

Macey was really puzzled.

"Ms. Clark, Trent is too arrogant. Do you want me to keep an eye on him?" Korbin comforted Macey when he saw that she was so angry.

"Shut up. Don't disturb me." Macey was so angry that she couldn't sit idle. She wanted to know who Trent was. Then she made another phone call.

"Hello? Help me check a person. His name is Trent Brougham. Born in 1998 and lives in Los Angeles. I have sent you the photo."

"Yes, Madam."

The other side answered, and then there was the sound of a keyboard being tapped.

But soon, the other side of the line was silent.

"What happened?" Macey noticed something strange and quickly asked.

"The person you are investigating actually has five years of blank information. During the first four years ago, his information was extremely confidential. His files from childhood are top secret, and we are not qualified to look them up."

"What?"

Macey was shocked.

The news dealt her a great blow.

They were not qualified to look Trent's information up.

So who is he? Macey wondered.

...

...

"Sir, just here."

"OK, goodbye."

"Goodbye."

After paying the fees, Trent returned to the staff dormitory. He went to Apexbit Group and found no traces of fighting. In other words, Kiley had not been hurt at all. But she suddenly disappeared.

This made him very puzzled.

He had to ask for a leave tomorrow and check this.

When he returned to the staff dormitory, it was already noon. He had just laid down on the bed when he received a phone call.

It was Maddox.

Seeing the caller, Trent quickly got up and sat upright.

"Mr. Olson."

"Trent, you're back?" Maddox, who was watering the plants in the yard of the villa, asked with a kind smile as he held an old-fashioned phone.

"Mr. Olson, did you call them to release me?" Trent asked.

Maddox said lightly, "Delilah has reported what happened this morning to me. Two groups of forces had a conflict with you. I just asked Delilah to check it out. A group of people came from Chicago. They should not have come for you. The other group is a gang of gangsters from Los Angeles. They are just nobodies.

"You can use this matter to clean up this gang. The person behind it is called Barton Simpson. You know him, right?"

"Barton?" Trent didn't know him. He had only seen a few people since he arrived in Los Angeles. Could it be the man I had thrown into the river? Trent thought.

"I don't know him," Trent replied.

"You don't know him? Fine. Since you don't know him, I won't make things difficult for him. I have something to tell you. The group from Chicago will be released tomorrow. They will most likely return to Chicago. There will be a joint operation to destroy those men. If you are implicated and encounter trouble, just give me a call."

"Thank you, Mr. Olson." Trent felt warm. He was just a nobody now, but Maddox was willing to help him.

"Don't thank me. You are Wolf King. Don't forget the oath you made when you joined Wolf Fang Mercenary. If there is a summon..."

Whoosh.

Trent straightened his back and shouted, "I will definitely answer the call."

"Good."

This phone call ended in Maddox's praise and appreciation of Trent's faith.

Trent also learned from Maddox that Kiley's identity was unusual, and she came from Chicago. But he didn't know who she was.

The other group of gangsters came for Trent.

The person who hired them must be rich but narrow-minded.

Trent would accept any fate.

If others didn't offend Trent, Trent wouldn't fight back. But if they did, Trent would show no mercy.

Trent didn't stir up trouble, but he was not afraid of trouble.

Time passed quickly, and it was soon dusk. The sunset and the afterglow on the horizon were beautiful. Abert drove a luxury car and stopped at the entrance of the company. As soon as he got out of the car, he ran to the staff dormitory and found Trent's room.

"Knock. Knock."

Trent opened the door. "Abert?"

"You haven't eaten yet, right? Today is Kathy's birthday. I'll take you home for dinner, and you can see my parents-in-law. If you are honey-lipped, maybe you can change to a more leisurely job."

"Alright."
