Chapter 16 Stop!

Trent did not want to seek a good position, so he said this.

He was doing this for Katherine!

Her body was heavily poisoned, so logically speaking, it would not leave behind any hidden dangers after the treatment. However, Katherine was a child with a weak constitution. In order to ensure her health, Trent decided to go back and investigate properly.

They got in Abert's luxury car. Half an hour later, they arrived at the villa halfway up the mountain where Rosanna's parents lived.

There were rows of expensive luxury cars parked at the door. Each car was sold for at least 500 thousand dollars. It could be seen that the people invited to Katherine's birthday were all dignitaries from all walks of life.

Trent glanced at them and followed Abert into the villa.

"Tap, tap..." Abert raised his hand and knocked on the door a few times.

The butler, Edwin Arquette, walked over and opened the door. When he saw Abert, he frowned and said coldly, "You're late. Everyone is so busy, and you're still loitering in the street outside."

Trent frowned.

Was this the butler of the Lennard family?

Trent narrowed his eyes. No matter how lowly Abert was, he was still the son-in-law of the Lennard family. A butler, regardless of his identity or status, was a level lower than his bigger brother. Why would Edwin dare to use such a tone?

Unexpectedly, Abert quickly put on a smile. "I'm sorry, Edwin. I went to pick up my brother Trent. He just came to Los Angeles not long ago. I brought him to participate in Kathy's birthday banquet."

"Your brother?"

Edwin looked at Trent. "Is he the scumbag that Ms. Lennard mentioned?"

"Edwin, Trent is not a scumbag. He is a good person," Abert said with a livid face.

"There is no need for you to defend him. If he's been in jail before, can he be a good guy? I'm just giving you a piece of advice. If Trent provokes the big shots here, no one will help you clean up the mess. When the time comes, you'll have to pack up your things and get out."

After saying that, Edwin turned around and walked into the villa.

Abert's face was red. Being taught such a lesson in front of Trent, he was a little awkward.

However, he still forced a smile and turned to look at Trent. "Trent, don't mind. In fact, the members of the Lennard family are very kind. It's just that they are somewhat condescending. Don't take it to heart."

Trent nodded. "It's okay, Abert. I don't come often. I just want to celebrate Kathy's birthday today."

"Okay, it's good that you don't mind. Let's go. I'll take you in."

After saying that, Abert brought Trent inside. The villa had a total of four floors. Above the fourth floor was an open-air rooftop, which was also the venue for the birthday party.

"Trent, Rosanna is greeting the guests on the rooftop. I'll go over first. There are a few very important presidents. Why don't you take a rest in the lounge on the third floor first? I'll call you when the party starts."

After bringing Trent to the third floor, Abert suddenly realized that some big shots had not been entertained yet. Right now, the people gathered on the rooftop were all powerful and influential people. If he left, it would inevitably make Trent feel lonely. He thought that it would be better to come to Trent after he greeted these people.

Trent smiled and said, "It's fine, Abert. I will walk around by myself. This is the first time I have come to the villa area halfway up the mountain. You don't have to worry about me."

"OK."

"Oh right, where's Kathy?"

"She seems to be playing on the second floor," Abert thought about it and said.

"Okay, I got it. I'll go find Kathy and see if the poison on her body is clean."

After saying that, Trent walked down the stairs.

Abert turned around and quickly went to the rooftop to find Rosanna who was chatting with the guests.

"Rosanna, I'm here."

Rosanna looked at him coldly. "Where did you go? You came back so late. Don't you know that there are many guests tonight?"

"I went to pick up Trent," Abert said.

"Trent? Where is he?" Rosanna looked behind him but did not find Trent.

"He went to look for Kathy. He said to check Kathy's body to see if the poison was cleaned," Abert explained.

"Oh, okay." Rosanna did not expect that Trent would be worried about Katherine. Her first impression of him had changed a lot. Trent was a talented person. With such good medical skills, he only needed a platform to develop well.

"When you cut the cake tonight, give one to Trent. I specially invited a cake master from abroad. Many rich people abroad have no place to buy it even if they want to eat it." After thinking for a while, Rosanna decided to give her cake to Trent as a repayment for his kindness after saving Katherine.

After all, this cake was ordered by her a week ago. At that time, Trent did not come.

"Okay, thank you, Rosanna."

Abert smiled.

...

When Trent reached the second floor, he felt as if he had entered a maze.

The villa occupied a total area of more than 2.7 acres, and there were about twenty rooms on the first floor.

Where was Katherine?

Trent was thinking that when he checked on Katherine's condition later, he could ask if anyone had given her anything to eat recently in order to find the real killer who had tried to kill her.

When Trent could not find the way, a scream immediately came.

"It's Kathy!"

Not good.

In a large children's room, there were dolls and statues. This was Katherine's room.

In order to welcome her seventh birthday tonight, her wardrobe was filled with expensive dresses. On this day, she also had the right to choose her outfit alone. When she thought of Trent coming to her birthday, she was very happy.

Abert said that it was Trent who saved her yesterday.

Trent was a skilled doctor, so he must know a lot of stories.

Facing the dresses in the wardrobe, Katherine was in trouble. She just came out of the bathroom and only had a white bathrobe on her.

Just as she picked up a new dress and took it down, the door suddenly opened.

She turned around and saw a fat middle-aged man in a suit with a slightly ruddy face.

She subconsciously took a step back and pouted. "Sir, this is my room. Mom said that men can't casually enter a girl's room. They have to knock on the door first."

"Oh?"

The fat man drank a few glasses of red wine, and he was dizzy. When he saw the little girl in a bathrobe, it turned him on.

"Kathy, right? Your mother is right. Men can't enter a girl's room casually, but I knocked on the door. Come, let me hug you and see your fair skin."

With the alcohol, the fat man put down the wine glass in his hand and reached out to grab Katherine.

Kathy panicked.

She was still young, and she had never encountered such a situation.

She kept retreating, but no matter how she retreated, she could not be faster than the fat man's footsteps. Just as she took a step, the fat man ran in front of her, grabbed her hand, and picked her up.

"Don't! Sir, put me down..." Katherine tried hard to resist, but it was difficult to break free.

When the fat man heard her shout, he felt more and more excited. He pulled Katherine's bathrobe away. He laughed loudly, "Wow, Kathy, your skin is so fair."

Just as he was about to kiss her, a figure rushed over from outside the door.

"Bastard. Stop!"
