Chapter 29: Like Knights and Paladins

Kyon POV

Weather Moon was just fine after the storm, for which Kyon was grateful.

Inside the Great Hall an hour later, Alpha Marcus Mond stood in silence after Kyon made his proposal, with the Crestas, including Azandra, Aunt Ilya, and Cousin Reinald as witnesses. Even Jude was present. All the Crestas had time to wrap their minds around the idea, and although they engaged in a fair bit of shouting and talking over each other, they didn’t seriously object.

The Hemmings had accompanied Marcus when Kyon summoned him, and they ignored Azandra, who barely looked in their direction either. Surprisingly, the motherly Primmy had also come with them, and she had stared across the hall at Azandra with warmth.

After the proposal, the Hemmings and Primmy looked like they’d been tossed into the ocean and now struggled to tread water. Shocking the Hemmings was an added bonus of changing the plan.
