The next evening, after a long day painting and staining the floors, I barely have time to go home and change before I have to head back to Juliet’s for her dinner party.


I arrive a little late to the party and see that everyone is already here by the number of cars in the driveway. I park my car and grab the bottle of wine out of the passenger seat before heading to the front door. 


Knocking on the door brings Juliet away from the group. She opens the door with a big grin and pulls me inside.


“Logan! I’m so glad you made it!” Juliet says happily, as if she hadn’t just seen me a couple of hours ago.


“And you brought wine! How thoughtful.” Kat pops up and swipes the bottle from me. I chuckle and follow the two of them back to the kitchen. 


It is very crowded in the small kitchen. I can’t wait to get started on the renovations. There will be so much more room for dinner parties. Not that I am expecting to be invited to more of them, but I can imagine how they will be.
