Chapter 11: Never a Master to Be Trifled With

In Arthur Lindsey's charming voice, there wasn't a hint of rage, but a gentle lull, slowly delighting the ear.

Sally Jefferson was taken aback, a surge of anger filling her.

How could he ignore her and be swayed by Ella Lacey's sweet talk?

He didn't let her take his discarded suit, so why could Ella take the newspaper from his hand?

Isn't he adverse to people touching his belongings?

Sally felt a tightening in her throat, a heartache followed, a feeling akin to heartbreak.

She got in the car absent-mindedly, Ella tried to lead her to sit in the backseats, but Arthur threw a morning newspaper to the co-pilot's seat in front of her and commanded, "Don't forget your duty, sit in the co-pilot's seat and read the newspaper."

Ella had a perplexed expression on her face.

This guy... taking people's teasing seriously.

Still, she obediently sat down at the co-pilot's seat, picked up the newspaper, and saluted, "Arthur, your newspaper-reading angel has taken her place!"

"..." Arthur remained unfazed, started the car, and drove away from his mansion.

Ella avoided the political and current affairs section and turned to her favorite entertainment news section, and she began to read aloud the gossip headlines in a lively tone, "The popular actress Rosie Carter announced she has a wealthy boyfriend and will reveal him soon——"

"SHUTUP!" Arthur interrupted her angrily and questioned sternly, "Who allowed you to read this entertainment gossip? Which section do I read at home, huh?"

Ella closed her mouth. Without raising her head, she quickly scanned the rest of the gossip title. Rosie Carter was one of the few idols she admired in the Entertainment Industry.

At the same time, she didn't forget to flatter Arthur and quickly turned to the political and current affairs section, admitting, "Arthur, you read the first section at home."

Worried Arthur would get impatient, she promptly began reading a financial news article about currency appreciation.

Sally, sitting in the backseat and observing Arthur's anger and Ella's scolding, suddenly felt her heartache evaporating.

So, Ella hasn't received Arthur's favor!

The more she thought about it, the more balanced she felt. How could an orphan like Ella be worthy of the best man in the world?

However, a statement Ella casually made at home still disturbed her: If Ella gets into the university, she can enter the mysterious castle again?

She herself has never been to the castle even once!

Humpf! She must find an opportunity to have Arthur take her there...

-

Arthur's driving skills were proficient and steady, weaving through the metropolis towards the urban area.

Ella's newspaper reading was nearing its end. After carefully reading the last piece of news, she placed the newspaper on her lap, her big starry eyes fixed on Arthur, "Arthur, the news reading is over. Were you satisfied with my service?"

Arthur didn't respond, but Sally chimed in, "Satisfied, very satisfied! Our Ella's pronunciation is accurate, her voice is full and can be compared to a news anchor."

"Sally, don't tease me." Not getting an answer from Arthur, Ella turned around and started chatting with Sally, "Actually, once I get to university, I really want to study journalism. What about you, Sally?"

"See, I knew it, Ella, you anchor!" Sally, looking self-content, said nonchalantly, "As for me, I guess I'd study performance arts, to become a versatile artist in the future – a model, acting, singing, even hosting; anything works."

"Wow!" Ella was already in awe just by hearing that, "Then I will be your first fan!"

"Ella, don't tease me either. Let's focus on getting into university first," said Sally in a practical tone. Even Arthur, who had been silent while driving, seemed to agree.

Noticing this, Ella naively nodded along with Arthur, "We all need to work hard to get into the university. Let's cheer up together!"

"Yeah, let's cheer up together. By the way, Ella, you mentioned that if you get into the university, you could enter the mysterious castle again, is that true?" Sally casually steered the conversation towards the topic that had been bothering her.

Where was this mysterious castle? What did it look like? She was eager to see it personally.

At this moment, the car slowed to a stop.

Unexpectedly, Arthur answered Ella's question, "Would I lie about something I've said?"

His tone was firm, leaving no room for doubt.

"The premise is that I can get into the university…" Ella smartly stuck out her tongue.

Even with this premise, Sally was still uneasy. She wanted to ask, "Arthur, if I also get into the university, could I enter your castle?"

Before she managed to ask, Arthur's powerful aura which had changed due to his outfit forced her to retreat, and she didn't dare utter a word.

The current Arthur was hiding behind his dark sunglasses, his silver Nike sportswear accentuates his robust physique, inspiring awe in all who see him.

Ella boldly walked by his side, sighing in fascination, "Arthur, you're so cool with your sunglasses! You draw even more attention now!"

But she couldn't see the fiery rage hidden behind Arthur's dark sunglasses!

Usually, people saw his dapper suit on television reports. But this casual sporty outfit paired with sunglasses should, arguably, make him "invisible" when among the crowd.

Unfortunately, this girl decided to comment the exact opposite.

The end result was that Arthur, who wasn't one to be provoked, took a large stride, coldly walked ahead, and didn't bother about her.

Sally was walking behind them, she sent a message on her phone. Then, she caught up to Ella and they walked side by side through the grand entrance of the university.
