"Get out!"

Sally Jefferson kicked him on the butt. Just as Ruben Finnegan was about to rise, he lost his balance. Bowed, he hit his face hard against the doorknob.

"Oh—"

He groaned in pain, and two streams of thick, fresh blood flowed from his nostrils, pitiful and disheveled.

"Thank you... for your kindness over the years," Louis Jefferson bowed earnestly.

Then, clutching his nose, he left in a hurry, stumbling along the way.

"Despicable cur!" Amber Sherwood shouted at his retreating figure, angrily cursing him.

"Wait, we can't just let him walk away like this!"

Sally Jefferson suddenly expressed her apprehensions, "Even though Ruben has taken the full blame for our plot against Ella Lacey and Arthur Lindsey could only trace the clues back to Ruben, but what if he spills the beans to Arthur? Wouldn't we be exposed?"

"Don't worry, Sally, I have a plan. Ruben, this discarded pawn, will have nowhere to run! He will be pursued and caught by everyone!"
