The Alpha's Mate | Pt.2

"I refuse to stay engaged to such a person. Mr. Moore, I'll make sure to compensate accordingly."

Tora listened in on the conversation being held in the living room. Her eyes stared at the person who looked like her father and David.

I suppose Dad is named John in this world...

It had been a week since she returned home. She had been cooped up in her room trying to come up with a plan on how to deal with her situation.

She remembered that Ethan had a conversation with Hallie's father regarding what had happened. What they talked about wasn't mentioned in the book, so she decided to listen in on it.

"That useless daughter of mine is not worth your time Corporal." Tora's hand that was gripping her phone clenched to the point that it turned white. "However, do consider her as a good choice for bearing children. An Omega such as my daughter has been raised solely for this purpose."

"...." Ethan simply glared at John for that statement but refused to comment.

"You don't have to make her your wife, just give me the grandson we agreed upon in the contract. Of course, the compensation you mentioned will be a great addition." John grinned at the perplexed look on Ethan's face. "Her next heat cycle is in two weeks, I'll do the preparations, so make it happen."

"I would rather breed with the lowest of prostitutes instead of your daughter. You're making it difficult for me, John Moore." Ethan's eyes darkened and his stature felt a lot larger. The strong scent of an Alpha spread, dominating everything in its path. John's muscles twitched at the sensation and soon enough, he too unconsciously asserted his dominance.

The two clashed for a couple of seconds until they both broke away from the sound of something falling to the ground.

Tora's body felt weak and her mind numbed. The phone she gripped was now scattered across the beautiful wooden floor. She felt overwhelmed by the strong scent released by the two Alpha's in the room.

Her eyes watered, although she wasn't sure if it was because of the foul scent or because this person's father saw her as cattle to be bred.

"Hallie?" A strong grip pulled her from the ground and straight into an embrace. "Sorry, you must have been startled by the scent." John had assumed that Hallie had arrived right when the two clashed.

"Fa..father..." Her voice shook and she felt sick. Her teary eyes made contact with Ethan.

Ethan who was walking towards them froze in his tracks, his instinct screamed that the Hallie he was sharing eye contact with was dangerous. Her pale face and shaky body however screamed weak.

"Let's go to your room."

"I want to go see Grandfather."

As expected, an Omega is treated horribly by everyone. The fact that no one came out to greet me was evident enough.

"I'm pretty sure I made it clear that you're not welcome here." A cold voice interrupted Tora's thoughts.

"Grandfather..."

"The nerve—! Forget it. Tell me what it is that you want." His hands rubbed his forehead in frustration.

"I need your signature."

"What?"

"Please, sign the gland removal consent form for me." The shocked look was comical and almost made Tora laugh.

"Not happening. Go home." He waved her away and turned around to leave.

"I'm joining the Military. Please, sign the consent form." Tora watched as the old man stopped in his tracks. His hands shook slightly as he turned around to glare at her.

"Is this a joke? I won't stand for it if you're simply joking—!"

"Are you really ready to retire and watch the downfall of the Moore's legacy?" Tora cut the old man off as she strode forward. "I can do it. Please trust me, General."

Her eyes were serious and her grip on his hands showed sincerity. His stomach felt weird and his body felt sick. It was true that multiple generations of Generals were going to end with him. The power and influence that the family had were slowly dying down ever since his useless son announced his departure from a martial background into that of a slimy businessman.

"Even so, you won't be able to bear any offspring if you remove your glands..."

"But I will still be able to revive the dead legacy. Besides, we can incubate a few of my eggs and later hire a surrogate mother to bear the children for me."

What Tora said made perfect sense. This got him thinking of the possibilities of a unique future up ahead. His fingers felt numb and his heart beat like never before. For the first time in a long time, he felt alive.

"I won't go easy on you." His lips curled and his eyes sharp as he focused on Tora's expressions.

"Give me a beating. Shape me into the legacy that our house has molded for years." Her face mirrored his and for the first time, he thought that this person was truly his flesh and blood. His one and only grandchild.

It had been a week since she left home and stayed here. Her Grandfather,  Robert Moore, was a well-respected General of the Water Wing Military. The world had been attacked by an unknown species. This led to an insane loss of Omegas during the time, due to them being the main target of the invaders.

Thanks to the Moore Family's specialty in Military Equipment Enhancement, this led to the win of the first battle as well as the construction of a new temporary home for citizens in space. The new planet had a circular dome that covered the entire area, creating a camouflage appearance to hide itself. The technology needed to run that was managed by the Moore family.

Inside the dome consisted of five rings. The one nearest to the dome is called the Sand Wing City, following that are the Fire Wing City, the Water Wing City, the Moon Wing City, and lastly, the innermost ring is called the Sun Wing City.

The Sun Wing City was where the rich and powerful stayed. There stayed the current King and his nobles. Moon Wing City lived the Central Military Force controlled by the Clarks. Water Wing City consisted of the Businessman, Secondary Military Force, and the Academics controlled by the Moore's. Fire Wing City was where most people stayed and were controlled by the William's.

Sand Wing City controlled by the Hills's, however, was a bit more interesting. They housed the Main Military Force as well as the only Military school. They also were the places that had the clinical trials. The city was a unique one that allowed no civilians.

Thanks to the fast evacuation and the countless lives that died to delay the enemies, they managed to save around 15% of the population. Omegas became a highly prized possession until the mega boom 20 years ago. This led to society treating Omegas like dirt again.

Robert had consistently forced a bunch of history books for her to read. This was due to the fact that Hallie had never studied anything other than Omega-related responsibilities. It wasn't banned for an Omega to join any profession they desired to, but it was highly frowned upon to do so.

If Tora were to join the military as is, she would barely be treated like a person. Her strong hormones and scent would be driving everyone crazy and affecting the military instead of helping it.

She knew that she had no control over this world's settings, instead, she decided to just get rid of the problem that prevented her from doing what she wanted. And the main reason why she needed to join the Military was simply...

"Freya had successfully passed herself off as an intelligent Beta who joined the 117th Regiment under the alias of Franz Gording. For her to escape an unwanted marriage as an Omega, the military was the only option. This was the only place she could hide from her Father's eyes."

I'll be seeing you soon, Freya Lee, the protagonist of this world.
