Guided by a Glow (80)

In the stillness after the flame was extinguished, Violet, Aeron, and Drogo all fell asleep. As Starfania looked up into the skies, she noticed the Moon was getting into position, making her way to the meeting spot. The stars were shimmering above like scattered jewels, and for a fleeting moment, she knew everything was going to be fine. To say she was nervous was an understatement. Starfania didn't know how this meeting would go. Once arriving at the place she had taken her friends was now the place that held the answer. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. The cool night air wrapped around her, whispering secrets of the universe. With each step, she felt both excitement and fear dance within her. This was the spot they had chosen, filled with memories both sweet and poignant. Starfania had spent countless nights dreaming of this moment, wondering what would unfold beneath the watchful gaze of the Moon.

The ground beneath her felt familiar yet foreign, as if the earth itself was aware of the significance of this gathering. She could almost hear the gentle rustle of leaves urging her forward. As the Moon rose higher, its light began to cast long shadows, illuminating the path ahead. Starfania glanced back at her sleeping companions, their faces serene. She felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. Their presence gave her strength, a reminder that she was not alone. The moment she had been preparing for was so close now, the air thick with anticipation. She wondered if the answers she sought would be revealed, or if there would be more questions. Suddenly, the tranquility shattered. A blinding white light erupted from the moon, streaking towards Starfania with unrelenting speed. Her breath was caught in her throat as the inky fragment broke away from the light, swirling like shadows in its wake.

Fear and awe intermingled within her. Her body refused to obey. Frozen in place, Starfania could only watch as the light descended closer and closer, until it hovered mere feet in front of her. She stumbled backwards, the sand beneath her billowing into the air as she collapsed onto the shore. All the creatures started to run away from the strange light going into hiding. The vibrant greens of the foliage seem to pulse with life, each leaf catching the golden rays and reflecting them in a dance of shimmering hues. Shadows stretch and shrink like playful spirits, darting between the trees and transforming the ground into a tapestry of light and dark. The air grows thick with warmth, infusing it with a gentle hum—crickets stirring from their slumber and the faint rustle of leaves whispering secrets as the sunlight filters through. Flowers unfurl like tiny fireworks, their petals glowing with an ethereal brilliance while the sky above transforms into a canvas of oranges and purples, as if nature herself is painting a farewell to the day.

Before Starfania's eyes, the dazzling light began to shift, its brilliance folding and reshaping into a form of some sort. A dragon emerged, its majesty unrivaled, its beauty both otherworldly and awe-inspiring. Its eyes were this midnight color that seemed to glow with life. Each scale shimmered like stars scattered across a dark sky, catching the faintest light as it moved. Massive wings unfurled, revealing intricate patterns that resembled constellations woven into their surface. The air crackled with energy as the creature took a step forward, its presence commanding yet graceful. Starfania felt a mix of fear and wonder wash over her. The dragon let out a low, resonant roar that filled the space with an echo of power. It gazed intently at her, as if reading her thoughts and dreams. The world around them seemed to hold its breath, waiting for what would come next. Time slowed, each heartbeat thudding in rhythm with the dragon's powerful pulse. Starfania understood that is much larger than herself.
