Hypnotized

*Beep*

I could hear numerous beeping from all around, as I slowly opened my eyes to the view of a white ceiling above me. My throat felt weirdly soar and dry, and I couldn't gulp down when I tried to.

I slowly scanned where I was, which looked to be a hospital ward. And my tense muscles finally relaxed when I saw a blonde haired lady, who looked to be in her early twenties, sitting on a chair beside the stiff bed I was laying on, with her head resting down on the edge of the bed.

I was happy that I was still alive, and if i were to get the chance to appear in the gray stairs again, then I won't hesitate to explore every ins and outs of it.

I slowly lifted my arms which were wired like I was an AI robot, and began pulling off the wires on me gently, to avoid waking the sleeping beauty... But the stupid machines didn't like the sound of my plan, and began blaring loudly.

Emma got startled awake by the sound, and looked at me in surprise. Her lips moved like she wanted speak, but no sound came out of her mouth.

"Hi..." I muttered to her with a smile, after pulling out the thin oxygen pipe that went down my throat.

"H-how are you awake?..." She asked in confusion.

"How am I awake?" I asked back, without pausing from pulling the needles and wires on me.

"Sorry, the doctors said you would be out for weeks, and might not even live that long" she explained.

"How long have I been out?" I asked and stood up from the bed, while doing lite stretches.

"... Seventeen hours, I think" she replied with wide eyes, as she saw me stood up casually.

"Well, I came back for you" I said with smile, "I believe the bills are on the CIA, so let's go" I added.

"W-what?... Are you sure you're okay?" She stood up, and walked up to where I was - on the other side of the bed.

"My legs feel a little bit weak, can I lean on you?" I asked with an innocent tone and expression.

"Yeah, come... But don't you think you should rest a little?" She hooked my arm around her neck, and held my wrist to support me.

"There would be no time to rest during a gun fight" I replied as we walked out from the ward.

"You're still a kid, you won't be going on any mission that has the potential of a gun fight" Emma chuckled and said.

"Please young mister, you can't leave now, we'll have to run some tests on you" A doctor suddenly ran up to us and said.

"I'm okay, I don't need your tests result" I replied with a smile.

"I insist young mister" the doctor said with a smile.

"We're going now, and if you try anything funny, then I'll fucking shoot you" Emma suddenly voiced out angrily, while hooking her CIA badge to her belt.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but that don't work here" the doctor said an apologetic smile, gesturing to her badge.

Something was starting to feel off about the doctor.

"Ooh, can I make a call then?" Emma asked calmly and pulled out her phone from her purse.

"You're free to do so... Young mister, could you please step back into your ward" The doctor said with a scary smile.

"Why is there no signal?" Emma asked the doctor, while returning her phone to her purse... Or so I thought.

"I'm sorry ma'am, we'll try to fix..." The doctor was saying.

*Bang*

The doctor words were cut short by a bloody bullet wound to his forehead, and he slumped to the floor.

"I knew he was a fake, but I never expected your move" I commented in surprise, as Emma did a quick body search on the dead doctor.

"Take this..." Emma said and handed me a pistol she retrieved from the doctors pants pocket. "I want you to be honest with me right now, did you go through a gray stairs before you woke up?" Emma asked hurriedly, while looking into my eyes.

I was stunned at the sudden question, and didn't know how to react, "G-gray what?... What are you talking about?" I asked in confusion, I wanted to be sure she was really asking what I experienced earlier, to avoid spilling unnecessary secrets.

"Oh god, not again... Forget I said anything" She said in disappointment, and a triangular shaped black metronome, suddenly appeared in her hands.

My jaw instantly dropped, "H-how did you do that?" I asked in shock.

"You'll know soon enough... Everyone will" she said like she reciting a prophecy, and inched her face closer to mine, looking me in the eyes, "You'll have no memories of what just happened now, and would only remember stepping out of your ward and passing out due to stress, sleep" Emma said as her pupils glowed golden, and snapped her fingers.

*Snap*

And I instantly fell unconscious before I could react.

-

I felt a warm towel being pressed down on my forehead as I woke up to a painful headache. I looked to the side and saw Emma sitting beside me with her hand pressing down at the warm towel on my forehead.

I slowly scanned where I was, and recognized it to be my room in the new apartment the CIA's gave me. I was confused at how I got here, and tried to remember what had happened before I passed out, but was even more confused when I remembered stepping out with Emma supporting me, and suddenly feeling dizzy and passing out.

"Why did you bring me here instead of leaving me in the hospital after I passed out?" I asked Emma curiously.

"The doctor said you were just stressed and needed rest and care, so I decided to take you to the comfort of a home" Emma replied with a smile, "How do you feel?" She added.

"My head hurts... Like someone had tweaked my brain" I added the last part jokingly.

"Don't say such things..." Emma replied quickly with an awkward chuckle, "I moved in, and will be staying in the other room till further notice" she quickly added with a smile.

"Why?" I asked in surprise.

"To keep an eye on you of course... Because it seems like you're going around, blowing up all the pods you can get your hands on" she said with a chuckle, "You should always inform me before stepping out of the house, for your own safety" She added and stood up with the warm towel on my forehead.

"Well, it's good to have an opposite gender in the house" I said with a naughty smile.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I have no interest in kids" She said with a forced smile, and headed for the door.

"I'm not a kid, I'm eighteen you know...?" I echoed with a frown, but she didn't reply and classically walked out, closing the door behind her.
