Mother's Sweetheart

As a result of Sophia's inattention, she choked on her cake.

She started coughing heavily.

Alexander stood up, poured her a glass of wine, and promptly presented it to her. To assist Sophia breathe more easily, he rubbed her back.

"Hey, go slow on the cake. Are you all right?"

Sophia continued to cough.

It was hard for her to speak.

Her cheeks flushed. No one knew it was due to her choking or embarrassment.

Sophia accepted the wine from Alexander and took quite a gulp before her coughing subsided.

Her eyes were filled with tears as she glanced up at Alexander. "Thanks a lot."

Alexander groaned hopelessly and tenderly, "You…"

Alexander suddenly touched the corner of Sophia's lips.

He quietly removed the cream from Sophia's lips and tasted it.

"It's a nice flavor."

Sophia was perplexed as to whether Alexander was referring to her or the cream in general.
