A Good Plan

Lisa approached him as he spread the map on the table, "It is a very old map, and I hid it in Ben's house because he is the only person I could trust!" Edgar said while his eyes still on the map.

Lisa looked at Ben who was standing near the table with a smile on his face.

Lisa smiled back at him "Are you two brothers?" She asked.

Ben and Edgar smiled at each other then looked at Lisa "Brother from another mother!" Ben responded effusively.

Lisa was smiling when her eyes fell on Edgar, he was staring at her, an awkward eye contact made them both lose their confidence, Ben was noticing everything with a sharp eye.

Edgar quickly looked down at the map and cleared his throat, "Let's focus on the map!" He suggested.

"Lunarian was born on the night of the eclipse, he was born…" He slipped his finger everywhere on the map until he stopped on a spot "Here! He was born in Griffinburg, a hidden city between Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It was the place where he stayed in the cave too, I bet this is where we will find our answers!" He added.

"How are we going to get there?" Lisa asked.

"You can take the boat, I have cash!" Ben walked to the drawer and took out a bunch of dollar bills "Take these!" He handed over the money to Edgar and walked back to the open drawer again, he took out a locket and stared at it with a smile on his face he didn't seem happy about it but he handed that to Edgar too.

"You will go east 100 miles from here and you will find a desolated road, there will be a woman named Bianca, she is a mechanic, Give it to her and tell her that I sent you.

She will give you fake IDs and passports, use the plane and get to Washington DC, there will be a guy named Frank, I will call him once you land in Washington DC, You will have to give him some money and he will give you his car.

You will go to the Delaware from there, Frank's man will take his car from you and will take you to a port.

There will be another guy there, they call him shorthand, there's nothing different about his appearance, they call him that because he does his master's dirty work, anyway, he will smuggle you to Nantes and then the Transit will lead you to the Zurich.

This is where you will find a witch named Alicia, tell her you are against Lunarian and she will help you get to the Griffinburg!" He had a notepad in his hand and he was writing down the main points Edgar had to follow, mostly about the locations and routes, names of people and places.

Afterward, he handed over the notepad to Edgar and slowly walked out of the room "Speaking of, stay as long as you want, you can take any room you like" He yelled and then disappeared.

They chose a room where Lisa could watch the moon, she liked moon gazing, and there she sat by the couch under a wide window, snuggling her knees with a shawl around her arms, the lights of the room were turned off already, and Edgar walked in.

"You are awake?" He turned on the light.

Lisa turned her head toward Edgar and kind of scolded him "Turn off the light now!" She exclaimed and Edgar quickly did as he was told to.

"I'm sorry did I do something wrong?" He was confused.

"Wrong?" She looked at him again her hair were blowing with wind on her face "Come sit here with me!" She patted the couch.

He sat beside her.

"Now look at the moon!" She pointed toward it.

He turned his face toward the sky, she sat her arms on the headrest of the couch and laid her head on her hands "Do you see those baby clouds going back and forth passing from in front of the moon?" She whispered.

He nodded, his eyes were open wide, filled with wonders, she looked at him with a smile, he had so much innocence on his face.

"Do you see those stars glimmering like pretty little diamonds in the sky? Have you ever star gazed, Edgar?" She asked.

He slowly nodded "I didn't have a chance!"

"So tell me, Edgar! Did you do the right thing turning on the light?" She asked as her eyes traveled back to the sky, the wind blew harder and she emitted a deep breath.

She didn't know when Edgar started gazing at her instead of the night sky "No! I didn't do the right thing turning on the light!" He whispered.

She shifted her head in his direction and their eyes met until a strong blow of wind messed up her hair.

He tucked her hair behind her ear, and the eye contact continued, while his hand was still in her hair.

He gently rubbed her velvety hair strands with his fingers, for a moment they forgot everything around them, except for each other's existence.

They say there's no better communication than the one held between two people's eyes, and the eyes with love and care in them, it was that kind of communication they were having, Edgar hasn't been more peaceful in his entire life.

But then a sound of a gunshot intruded their peaceful moment, led by another sound of a glass being shattered.

Edgar left the room advising her to lock the room, but instead, she followed him knowing that she would be safer with him.

"I am sorry but I can't stay alone!" She said.

Edgar didn't force her instead he just asked her to stay as quiet as she could, they went in search of Ben and found him lying injured on the ground in his living room, he was shot in his arm, and was heavily bleeding, Lisa covered her nostrils with the back of her hand, as her eyes glowed red.

"I can't do this right now!" She gritted her teeth.

"Lunarian's men are here, I tried to stop them from coming to your room so they shot me, I had help from Matilda, if she hadn't broken the glass you guys wouldn't be able to escape! Get Lisa out of here as soon as possible!" Ben was having trouble breathing.

"I will heal! Now go!" He grunted.

When Edgar backed off his hand got scratched by the corner of the couch, he avoided it at that time but as soon as he and Lisa sat in the car, Lisa's eyes fell on his wound, "Is vampire's blood supposed to be black?" She asked.

Edgar nodded in denial.

"Then why is yours black?" Her gaze was stuck at his wound.

He looked down and his eyes widened "What?" He wiped his blood off using a tissue paper and he didn't realize that he shouldn't but he threw the tissue paper out of the car.

They left Ben's house behind and drove as fast as they could.

Meanwhile, Ben was left alone, he slid his hand inside his pants' pocket and took out a remote, he stood up while grunting with pain.

He walked into the store room and pushed away a shelf in front of a wall, there was a door behind it, he opened it and walked out, meanwhile Lunarian's men were spreading everywhere in his mansion, to find everything that could help them find Edgar.

It was a secret passage that helped Ben leave the house, and when he was far away from his mansion, he looked at it with love in his eyes "I'm sorry babe!" He whispered and pushed the button on the remote in his hand.

His mansion blew up and scattered along with Lunarian's men, the only way he could escape that place was to blow it up, he had built the explosive system just for the right time and this was it.

He watched it burn in front of his eyes and left it burning behind his back, he hung his jacket on his shoulder, peeked in his pocket that had a wallet with some money in it, and left the location as soon as he could.
