Chapter 73: Light of Annihilation
Lu Zheng and Olina walked through the layer of the layered realm.
After eating the meat Olina had roasted, Lu Zheng's bloodline power was filled to the brim again.
As they walked, both of them conversed on many topics.
Lu Zheng asked about Jason and Julie and how they were related to Olina.
From what she told him, Jason and Julie were from Crimson Sun Palace, a subordinate force of Yin Yang Province just like Blazing Flame Palace.
Many decades ago, when Olina was still a Sky realm expert, Blazing Flame Palace had partnered with Crimson Sun Palace to explore a secret realm.
The secret realm was supposedly the inheritance place of the Red Tyrant, an Extent realm expert that used to terrorise the forces of Yin Yang Province.
The Red Tyrant was a fire path cultivator and his inheritance was very suitable for both Crimson Sun Palace and Blazing Flame Palace, especially for the latter. Moreover, neither of the forces could claim the inheritance on their own so the cooperation was very beneficial for both parties.
However, the Red Tyrant was a demonic path [1] martial practitioner hence, his inheritance was very dangerous. At the final stage, they discovered that the Red Tyrant's inheritance could only be claimed by one person and since they were from different forces, dissension occurred.
Despite having agreed to inform the seniors of their respective forces first, Crimson Sun Palace's members rose against Blazing Flame Palace's members. Jason and Julie were the key persons in the battle.
They were originally close friends of Olina which made it easier for them to betray her.
In a fit of rage, Olina had destroyed the inheritance when it fell into Jason's hands leaving both forces with nothing but hate.
Lu Zheng started to speak when a huge tremor occurred, shaking the world.
A figure flew in the sky, looking arrogantly upon the world.
Lu Zheng easily identified the female as a clansman of the Jin-Jin Clan.
"Human race" Her voice was loud and clear.
"Today, you enter the realm in which we, the Jin-Jin Clan have been sealed for millennia upon millennia. You shall serve as food for us and help us enter into the final layer of this realm. Your deaths in my hands are a worthy cause. Now I summon, Light of Annihilation!"
The female spread her arms open and raised them up. A very bright white light manifested just above the arms of the woman, growing rapidly by the second.
"This light… the light of annihilation! Run!" Lu Zheng's features changed in horror.
"Ptsoom!"
The gigantic beam of light crashed down to the earth, killing multitudes at once.
Lu Zheng grabbed Olina and poured wind Qi into his legs.
~Gentle Steps!~
Lu Zheng flew mid-air with Olina in his hands.
The bright light continuously expanded at a great speed faster than Lu Zheng.
"Ah! Supreme Lord said not to kill all" The bald woman slapped her forehead. Immediately, the bright light dissipated.
If one were to see from the woman's perspective, they would see the corpses of many human martial practitioners strewn on the ground.
Every tree and mountain that was hit by the light was nowhere to be found.
Massive amounts of short, green, bald people appeared, eating the corpses of the dead humans.
Of course, Lu Zheng and Olina could not behold this sight.
"Gah!" Olina's body shook involuntarily as she spat out a mouthful of blood.
"What's the problem?" Lu Zheng was concerned. Olina's fair skin was rapidly turning blue.
"I [gah], I was hit" Olina coughed up another mouthful of blood mid-sentence.
"Shit!" Lu Zheng cussed.
On her left arm, there was a large patch of a gruesome wound. The skin there was like a bloody mash and it would occasionally shine, displaying a bright white light.
Whenever this happened, Olina would cough blood.
From her spatial ring, a large amount of Profound Grade pills were willed out and chuffed into her mouth.
The injury on her left arm shined brightly, forcing Olina to cough up more blood. Her skin's colour was turning even paler.
"There are light path dao imprints in the wound!" Lu Zheng exclaimed. "And they are a lot too. What is the cultivation base of that demon?"
"[Coughs], she is at least at the first tier of Acquisition realm. [Gah], I-I don't want to die" Olina was in an extremely bad condition.
Her insides were being constantly ravaged by the light. She could be said to be at death's door already.
"I-I know of a method to save you" Lu Zheng suddenly said.
"Y-Y-You do?" Olina was stunned. What could a Sky realm expert like Lu Zheng do against injuries afflicted by an Acquisition realm expert?
However, when she remembered Lu Zheng's feat of going toe-to-toe against Jason and Julie and then incinerating a peak of Void Passage realm expert immediately after, she decided to be optimistic.
[1] In the cultivation world, martial practitioners were generally grouped into three categories; demonic path (the evil ones), righteous or virtuous path (the good ones who belong to a force) and the lone martial practitioners (who did not belong to a force and were also not evil)
