Chapter 125: Lin Feng’s Shrewdness

Two men flew swiftly through the hot sky that was littered with three blazing suns.

One of these men was burly with purple scales that covered his entire body. He had green eyes with vertical slits for pupils, on his bald head were two red horns. A cleanly cut scar ran over his nose from cheek to cheek.

The other man was a human. He had long silvery hair that reached his waist and sanguine red pupils. He was tall and exuded a scholarly aura. His handsome face could make any female swoon with affection.

These two were the same duo that had just destroyed the formation Lu Zheng and Houyan Meili were in.

The atmosphere between the two was relaxed and silent as they swiftly flew over the grassy terrain below them.

The burly man, Cedric, was the one to break the silence with words of praises: "Lin Feng, you are surely the most cunning human I know. Not only did you get the Vermillion True Flame and thousands of drops of Vermillion Blood, we also got the Life Blood Crystals, all in one swoop"

Lin Feng smirked. He was the one behind the mastermind of a plan to refine the entire Bei Sect into Life Blood Crystals.

Not only did he do so, he made sure to get the Vermillion Blood he needed and the Vermillion True Flame.

If it were not for the slight mishap, they would have fifteen Life Blood Crystals, far from Lin Feng's initial estimates.

Lin Feng stole a glance at Cedric and shook his head at how easily he had manipulated the man.

Cedric had reached a bottleneck in his cultivation for almost three decades now and was deeply depressed over the matter.

Lin Feng had only promised him five Life Blood Crystals to stimulate his bloodline and aid his comprehension of the Dao.

In return, Cedric did the dangerous work of stealing the Deep Blue Sea Flame from one of Chang Court's internal disciples and even sacrificed his entire sect.

On the other hand, Lin Feng was walking away with most of the profits and Cedric would only get five Life Blood Crystals.

"What I don't understand is why I had to leave the Deep Blue Sea Flame" Cedric suddenly said, bringing Lin Feng from his thoughts.

Lin Feng smiled: "If we did not leave the Deep Sea Blue Flame, Chang Court would chase you all over Western Plains. It is better this way"

Cedric nodded in understanding and was once again filled with praises for Lin Feng.

"We should separate now" Lin Feng said, stopping abruptly.

"What is the matter?" Cedric was surprised.

"I have matters to attend to. Besides, you have to absorb the Life Blood Crystals" Lin Feng said.

"Oh" Cedric laughed before turning in another direction. "Let's meet in the future Lin Feng"

Lin Feng nodded before flying some hundred metres. His body shimmered as his overall appearance transformed.

Within moments, Lin Feng's silvery hair became brown and his red pupils turned emerald green. His face became smaller and his chin became pointed. His body seemed very delicate yet sturdy.

His green eyes glistened as he flew into a city before entering his home.

"Master, I've returned"

After a loud explosion, debris cleared to reveal a blood cocoon that stood mid-air above a large patch of earth.

The blood cocoon diffused into a bloody mist before quickly thinning out. A man in red robes and a very beautiful woman with large wings appeared from the cocoon.

It was unknown when the woman had changed into a new set of clothes.

Lu Zheng sunk his psyche into his aperture where his Qi tree stood majestically.

The tree itself was several tens of metres tall and seventeen Qi leaves the size of fully grown adults grew from it.

Sixteen of the Qi leaves were already withered and shrivelled up and the last one had lost its verdant lustre.

It was obvious that they had almost run out of Qi.

Lu Zheng sighed and shook his head. This was the disadvantage of cultivating numerous paths – Qi expenditure.

Houyan Meili quickly left his embrace before turning away, her cheeks red from embarrassment.

Lu Zheng knew better than to disturb her. He dove to the ground where the Deep Blue Sea Flame floated in a small wisp.

As he approached the Immortal Flame, the latter slowly distanced itself from Lu Zheng.

"Huh?" Lu Zheng was puzzled.

"The Deep Blue Sea Flame is an Immortal Flame. It has formed its own consciousness. It is natural for it to fear your presence since you have the Vermillion Bird Race's bloodline" Houyan Meili pointed out but for some reason, her voice was icy.

"Okay" Lu Zheng nodded in understanding as ice Qi poured from him.

The temperature around him dropped instantly to sub-zero degrees as thin layers of ice formed on the earth.

Without further struggles, Lu Zheng stored the Deep Blue Sea Flame in a glass jar.
