Chapter 156: Blades of Annihilation Descend
"What is the matter?" Burning Ash Demonness was surprised by Ethan's sudden reaction.
When she turned to face the man, her body suddenly froze in place.
"Why… why is it here?" Burning Ash Demonness felt her entire body shake in trepidation. Even her face was pale from the great fear she felt.
From the centre of Chang Court's ruins, great azure chains rose like slithering snakes that gave off a metallic sheen.
The great chains were millions of metres long and extremely slender. The bright light from the three suns of the main world reflected brightly from their bodies.
Ethan and Burning Ash Demonness were frozen from fear as memories they had long since buried behind them rose into remembrance.
They could remember when their cultivation bases were still very low, at the bottom tiers of Void Passage realm.
They could remember the trauma they had faced when a certain Eternal realm expert captured them to feed them as sources of energy for his own cultivation.
"Those blue chains… that strong aura…" Ethan's words were slow and heavy.
"It cannot be mistaken. That is the Azure Divine Cauldron" Burning Ash Demonness said.
Thousands of millennia ago, both Burning Ash Demonness and Ethan were captured with a myriad other Void Passage realm experts by a certain Eternal realm expert.
This Eternal realm expert cultivated blood path and used the true blood of other martial practitioners to advance his own cultivation.
The Azure Divine Cauldron was a legendary artifact that had fallen into the hands of this expert. Anyone that was bound by its chains was destined to die.
Burning Ash Demonness knew that if it wasn't for her master, Blacksteel Ancestor, she would have died those many years ago.
"But why is it here?" Ethan asked Burning Ash Demonness. His voice was already hollow.
"I don't know but we must report this to Blacksteel Ancestor immediately" Burning Ash Demonness replied.
With a swipe of her hand, she tore open a spatial passage and left the place with Ethan at once. She didn't dare to linger any further.
The rest of the gathered martial practitioners were not so lucky. The azure chains of the Azure Divine Cauldron bound them and dragged them to the bottom of the trench that was formed during the fight between Devil Lord Edu Shashou and Thunder Soul Monarch.
"What is this!?"
"I can't get free!"
"Who is behind this stunt!?"

The shouts and screams of the powerhouses slowly died out as they were dragged to the very centre of Chang Court.

Within moments, the spatial cracks and fissures had grown into spatial blades hundreds of times taller than Devil Lord Edu Shashou. Even the smallest one was many times larger than he was.
If any of the martial practitioners from before were still alive, they would recognise the giant spatial blades as the Blades of Annihilation.
It was like the end of the world had already come.
The Blades of Annihilation cut down at Chang Court's already ruined landscape, carving even space as they descended.
The Blades of Annihilation were weapons of the Heavenly Dao itself. Only Reverends could stop them.
The darkness that filled the sky engulfed the place and the light from the three suns dimmed out swiftly.
When the Blades of Annihilation were all gone, the darkness thinned out and the sky became day again.
The ruined landscape of Chang Court had long since disappeared and replacing it was a large stretch of tall thick grass that were as verdant as nature itself.
The blades of grass were thousands of metres tall and just one was as thick as a house. Overtime, beasts and other lifeforms would migrate to the forest and form their own ecosystem.
Chang Court, the Azure Divine Cauldron, the Sea of Nirvana and the Blades of Annihilation were all gone.
