Chapter 292: This Person Smells Like Trouble

Makato, Aimi, Yajima and the other members of the Changshou Tong Race walked through a tunnel in the labyrinth.

The walls around them resembled crude earth as faint wisps of chaos energy emanated from them. A silent hum radiated from the tunnel walls.

The chaos energy from the walls was from the Seed of Chaos that had formed the labyrinth and was what maintained it. Only, it was thousands of thousands of times thinner than the chaos energy contained in the Seed of Chaos.

For this reason, martial practitioners at their levels could barely manage to walk through the tunnels of the labyrinth. They could not even use their Sea of Consciousness inside the labyrinth.

Only the third eye of the Changshou Tong Race that could achieve a similar effect as the Sea of Consciousness of the other races could be used in this place.

The space within the tunnels was a deep darkness but when Makato released his Spectral Spark Flame, the darkness receded from it.

Aimi sighed in relief: "It is true, chaos energy fears the Mystical Flames"

"Hmm" Makato nodded in affirmation. "This was the reason I was chosen as your leader"

Aimi and the others nodded in realisation. Not every member of the Changshou Tong Race could form the Spectral Spark Flame. Only those with a red third eye could create it at will.

The members of the Changshou Tong Race all opened their fore-eyes as bright shades of blue, purple and green were released. Makato's surreal red fore-eye was unique among all.

All of a sudden, a shrill ear-piercing scream broke the silence as a skull flew towards them. The skull was cracked in many places and eerie red lights shone from its eye sockets. In the space where its forehead was, a third eye socket shone brightly.

"This…"

Aimi and the others were stunned to see a skull flying towards them. Without the light from Makato's Spectral Spark Flame, they would never have seen it coming.

There was no change in Makato's expression as he manipulated his flame. The Spectral Spark Flame burnt brightly as it engulfed the flying skull.

The shrill screams of the flying skull grew louder before eventually dying out. The skull lost the lustre in its eye sockets and it fell lifelessly to the ground.

"What is that?" Hina, a reticent member if their group asked softly.

Makato picked the skull and smiled at her: "Before the Progenitor was killed by the experts of the human race, he used his methods to divide his will into many portions. Those wills now exist as lifeless skulls that hunger for food. We will gather the wills of the Progenitor and revive him. This is our plan to revive our Changshou Tong Race"

The members of the Changshou Tong Race were stunned as Makato spoke. They did not know of the true plan to revive their race and were greatly shaken.

Makato gave the skull to Aimi and she stored it in her pocket space. It was her unique bloodline ability that had the powers of space.

Yajima turned his head as he stared at a wall, his green fore-eye as bright as ever: "And the humans? What will they do with the flying skulls?"

"Only a few methods can refine the scattered thoughts of the flying skulls. Without them, they'll only be food for them" Makato said simply.

"Let us continue" Makato huffed solemnly.

"Hmm"

Makato had battle strength unmatchable by the rest of his group so they only tagged along as he refined the scattered thoughts of the flying skulls. Aimi stored the flying skulls promptly when Makato was done.

In such manner, Aimi became a walking spatial ring.

…..

Time passed quickly within the aperture fragment of Reverend Divine Prime Jade. Meanwhile, Themur and Hong Haoyu soared through the skies of Southern Border in search of Lu Zheng.

The sky was dark and cold and a large crescent hung in the sky, shining a profound coldness on the entire main world. Even though it was night, the sky was still filled with dense clouds.

Themur flew through the clouds with Hong Haoyu by his side. The dense clouds covered them and protected them from random visage. It also helped obscure the blood path aura emanating from Themur.

Themur urged his blood path methods to sense Lu Zheng but despite its profundities, he was unable to sense Lu Zheng who was in another realm.

Giving up with a sigh, Themur cancelled his technique: "I failed again"

"Do not worry. It is probable that he is not in this region or even in this realm at all" Hong Haoyu said in an attempt to console Themur.

"It is possible. Lu Zheng does enjoy travelling" Themur replied.

"Hey friend, please wait" A certain voice suddenly beckoned at Hong Haoyu.

Hong Haoyu stiffened at first as he heard the voice. Although he was employing his scouting methods, he was unable to sense the third party.

Both parties sized themselves up. The man looked to be in his early forties and his skin was muddy brown. His black hair draped across his face in single strands.

Hong Haoyu and Themur knew better than to judge a person by their looks in the cultivation world. But the problem was apparent to Hong Haoyu and Themur.

They could not sense the man's aura at all!

Hong Haoyu groaned as he sized the man up: "This person smells like trouble"
