Chapter Twenty One: Labyrinth of Death II

"Liar, you escaped for your greed. You want to become powerful, is that not so?"

The labyrinth echoed in her mind— a hoarse and ages whisper. Fear and guilt consumed Velma greedily. Deep down she knew that the real reason she had escaped was not her death threat— after all, her father was Lord Creon, he could have done something about it. He had good connections and although he was not corrupt, he would have at least done something to save her.

The guilt of knowing she has escaped with plans of getting a way to harness her powers ate away at her soul. Was her decision so selfish that she had to end up here? Velma thought to herself.

She did not want to give up on the hope the possibility that she could become someone with great power. She was too curious to let go of what she has discovered. What if she became as powerful as Maha? Or maybe more powerful than her.
