Chapter Thirty Nine: A Scandalous Affair

Adelaide stood proudly in the middle of the hall. Artemis had placed her in charge of organising the ball and she prided herself on a job well done. The room was flooded with coloured lights in different shades of lemon and pink, the centre of the room was left sparse to ensure there was enough room for dancing; the chairs were arranged in such a way that there were two chairs to one table for lovers and for larger groups there were more; the flag of Aysun stood proudly in the centre of the hall; in all the hall looked perfect for a state soiree, one fit enough to celebrate Aysun's soldiers.

"As expected you did a wonderful job!" Artemis remarked upon entering the hall. He had expected Adelaide to deliver but she had surpassed his expectations.

"She's a wholesome lady," Vallus praised his mate placing his arm around her.

"I learnt about Lady Veronica's son, what a pity!" Adelaide remarked as she saw some persons entering the hall.
