Chapter Fifty Four: Findings

Myrtle left the woman's shop after she had purchased some chickens. Now she walked through the market with a live cock and hen in a box. She was constantly flustered by the life embedded in the cage she held in her hands. It was a challenge to pretend that she was used to carrying such a thing when the only time she saw chickens was on her plate.

"Please can you direct me to the grandma's shop? She sells the best pineapples I am told,"

"Ah! The town grandma, you just go straight down and turn on the third street,"

"Thank you,"

She was sweating and now very fully awake; this was the most physical work she had ever done in her life. She was a skilled fighter as it was necessary to train with her father growing up given his position as Chief warrior in the pack but the hardest of training could not compare with the walking and chickens.
