Chapter One Hundred & Nine: A Strange Glow

"You can get the water yourself," Velma said, breathing heavily. "Then shall we speak. I beg of you."

Evgenikós regarded her slowly then stood up, with one last glance at Velma before she exited the room, she said, "Do not betray me. Be absolutely still."

She returned in less than a minute with a large cup of water and sat on the floor. Then with precision, she guided it to Velma's lips so she could drink of it.

Velma gulped down the water thirstily and within seconds, the cup was empty. "Thank you,' she smiled.

"You should get back in," Evgenikós said once the water had cooled. Velma nodded and did as she was told.

"Well." Evgenikós set the breaker down to the floor slowly, and place her hands on her thighs. "Where were we?"

"How long have you worked for Titus?" Velma leaned into the tub and closed her eyes.

"About a year now."

"You have used your magic, yes?"

"To help him, yes," Evgenikós answered.
