"Where have you been?" questioned Vallus as Adelaide entered their home.

"Why do you care?" she asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes. She was about to leave his sight when he went after her and grabbed her hand with force.

"You bitch! I know that thing in your belly is not mine. I am not stupid," he said harshly as he held onto her hand in a clawing grip. His nails caused her skin to turn red.

"Let go of me," she said with hard eyes.

"Let go? You parade that pregnancy up and down like some treasured po..." Vallus did not get to complete his statement before Adelaide slapped him hard on the face. The shock made him lose his grip on her hand and he staggered backwards.

"You are the one who announced to the world that I am with child, I never said a thing to anyone," returned Adelaide with rage, her eyes blazed with an otherworldly flame.
