Chapter One Hundred & Seventy Four: Haggling

The blue wall stood like a shield preventing anyone from entering or leaving the temple. The rebel army had soon come to realise that there was no penetrating the temple.

Now both sides were waiting for the blue wall to fall; for Maha to die.

Lord Creon knew exactly what his duty was. He was to protect the temple's heir. Esmeray had written it in the letter she had left behind. She had told him that just as the blue wall falls, Adelaide will arrive at the temple and he must ensure that she is able to enter the temple in time to give birth to her baby.

For him though he had two duties; he had to protect his wife and secondly he had to bring Adelaide into the temple.

Meanwhile in the temple Maha had begun to show the first signs of exhaustion but she stood firm and continued chanting in a low voice. The other women held her and together their voices kept the blue wall from falling apart.

Maha could feel a tingle. Her heir was on its way.
