Chapter One Hundred & Seventy Six: Haggling II

Velma stopped in her tracks, her heart pounding in her chest as she whipped her head in the direction of the haunting voice. It seemed to emanate from one of the veiled mirrors, but which one? The mystery only added to the chilling atmosphere of the room, shrouded in shadows and secrets.

"You were saying?" Velma turned to Wixej, determined to push the unsettling voice to the back of her mind for now.

"This could also be a portal into your sweetest dreams, or worst nightmares," Wixej intoned cryptically.

"What are the chances?" Velma asked, her voice tinged with apprehension. "That it would be the former?"

"Depends on you... How dark your soul is," Wixej replied with a knowing look that sent a shiver down Velma's spine.

"It's a portal alright, but not what I am looking for. This mission is not a dream, it is a part of my reality," Velma silently affirmed to herself, steeling her resolve.
