Chapter One Hundred & Ninety Two: An Empty House

What Commander Philip did not realise was that sending out search parties was of no use now; the couple had long escaped their radar. After twelve hours of searching, Philip decided it was best to give up. He took a pair of binoculars and looked upwards to Lord Creon's roof. Formerly there were men that were stationed there so in case they entered within proximity of the main gate they would be shot but the rooftop was empty. His eyes got watery from looking up so he wiped his eyes and looked up again; there really was no one there. He commanded a soldier to approach the main gate and unlike the previous times there were no arrows shot from above.
