Chapter One Hundred & Ninety-Three: The Dark Forest

Nighttime came faster than Velma anticipated.

She stood at the entrance of the dark forest with Dedruh, Harn and the other druids who were members of the temple committee behind her. She was made to know that she was going into the forest alone; no guidance and she would have to rely on her instincts to survive.

There was a possibility that she may not make it out alive because the way a little girl shuddered when she had heard Harn mentioning the dark forest to another committee member.

"What else lurks in there?" Velma asked, turning to face Dedruh.

"Nothing that should concern you at the moment," Dedruh answered. "Go on in."

Taking a deep breath, Velma let go of her fears and shifted into her wolf form. Some of the other members of the temple still gaped at her wolf form in awe and Velma felt a tad bit please.
