Chapter 43: Snake Demon

At that moment, a deafening shout shattered the tense silence. Monk Red Raven didn't have time to save Mowen, nor did he want to; instead, he chose to attack the lady in red with all his strength.

Red Raven had always been a maverick. While his understanding of Buddhist teachings was mediocre, he possessed an extraordinary talent for martial arts. He never cared to play the role of a protector, always adhering to his own set of rules.

Despite his master's task involving someone who might be a Bodhisattva, Red Raven remained as headstrong as ever, determined to complete the mission his own way. To him, the seemingly delicate young man did not merit his respect.

With a powerful twist of his waist, Monk Red Raven, leveraging the momentum, snapped the stall owner's neck. His massive fist thundered towards the demon's face; even if she managed to kill Mowen, her head would be shattered in an instant.

The sudden threat forced the crimson-robed demon to abandon her assault on Mowen, swiftly retreating to the side. Clearly, nothing was more important to her than her own pretty face.

Nonetheless, her nails left a bloody scratch on Mowen's neck, but he breathed a sigh of relief, his life temporarily spared.

With a successful strike, Monk Red Raven positioned himself between Mowen and the young lady, sneering, "Demon, can't wait anymore?"

"You are indeed his bodyguard! It seems this person is the one we are looking for!" she said, a hint of regret in her eyes as she spoke. Her whole body was on guard, needing to deal with the monk before striking again. The atmosphere grew increasingly tense, charged with electricity, ready to erupt into a new battle at any moment.

The crimson-robed demon stared fiercely at Monk Red Raven, searching for his weakness, while seductively licking the bloodstains on her nails. Her movements were enchanting and eerie, like a seductive dance. This psychological warfare, unfolding between masters, quietly played out.

As the lady prepared to taunt Monk Red Raven, flames suddenly erupted from the bloodstains on her tongue as if by magic. The heat washed over her, filling her with fear. She quickly tried to shake it off, but the flames spread rapidly, engulfing her face.

The fire illuminated her, creating a strange and intense beauty. As the flames flickered away, her burnt scales were revealed, her once beautiful face severely disfigured. She closed her eyes in terror, a piercing scream tearing through the night sky before she hastily fled the battlefield in a sorry state.

Watching the demon's retreat, Monk Red Raven was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter. "Little demon, how dare you defile his blood!" His laughter contained a mix of unexpected joy and inevitability.

In the distance, the astonished and enraged male demon suddenly calmed down, his steps halting, a hint of surprise hidden deep in his eyes.

Mowen, meanwhile, remained vigilant, the sudden turn of events raising more questions and worries.

"Why did my blood ignite?

Who are they looking for, and why is that person the monk's target?

How did I get mixed up in this by chance?

Why do these demons look so demonic?" Mowen quickly stopped himself from dwelling further.

Meanwhile, the male demon hurriedly embraced the disfigured woman, caressing her back tenderly. "Oh dear, don't cry, it hurts my heart," he murmured which made her cried even more miserably.

"Oh, it's really heart-wrenching to watch. This brute has no regard for beauty!" the liverstreamer lamented.

The male demon hastily took out a pill from his bosom and gently fed it to the woman. As she swallowed the pill, the male witch anxiously waited, his eyes glaring fiercely at Monk Red Raven.

"You, what are you staring at?" Monk Red Raven taunted.

The male demon responded without backing down, "What are you looking at?"

The two locked eyes in the darkness, the tense and taut situation on the verge of eruption.

"You wanna try staring again?"

"I'll give it a shot if you dare."

"Come on, come closer."

"You come first."

The two of them were like two dogs, constantly barking from a distance.

"Bald donkey, looks like if I don't teach you a lesson, you won't know how powerful I am." The male demon, upon seeing no improvement in the woman's condition, became enraged.

He waved his hands, issuing a low and loud shout, "Summoning of the Serpent!"

As his voice echoed, intense black light burst from his fingertips. These black lights condensed into several vague figures, gradually taking on clear outlines, finally forming into several enormous snakes - their lower bodies coiling upward, their upper bodies standing erect like pillars, staring straight ahead.

These summoned snakes were much larger than ordinary ones, their scales emitting an unsettling dim light. Their hissing echoed through the night sky, seemingly foretelling the impending disaster.

Under the male demon's summoning, these giant snakes brimmed with ferocity, swiftly lunging towards Monk Red Raven. They were agile, their movements as fast as lightning, each strike filled with brutal force, like merciless messengers of demons.

The black light illuminated the snakes, making their outlines even more imposing, like guardians from the abyss, sending shivers down one's spine.

Seeing several snakes pounce towards him, Monk Red Raven's eyes instantly lit up with excitement. He exclaimed loudly, "Come on, try my Shaolin Eagle Claw technique, perfect for dealing with venomous snakes!" His tone carried fearlessness and challenge.

The Shaolin Eagle Claw technique was created to mimic the way eagles catch snakes, specifically designed to counter these venomous serpents. The snakes swiftly surrounded eagle like Monk, their serpentine bodies agile as arrows, fiercely biting towards him.

Red Raven leaped as if a falcon taking flight, agilely evading the snake's attacks, while showcasing the power of the Shaolin Eagle Claw technique. A giant eagle skillfully repelled the snake swarm with punches and kicks, swiftly grabbing their necks whenever he caught one, decisively snapping them, calm and resolute.

Hisses and clashes of fists intertwined, creating a dangerous and intense symphony. The snakes were agile and cunning, attempting to entangle the giant eagle with their massive bodies, while the eagle soaring in the air, diving to strike the venomous snakes. Buildings collapsed, chaos ensued, the scene was a mess.

Several defeated snakes were forcefully thrown towards the male demon, igniting his fury. He gestured with his arms, turning the crippled snakes into a cluster of black mist, then grabbed them and twisted them together.

Subsequently, the two demons merged into one, forming a creature with two human heads and a snake's body. When the monster stood up straight, it reached the height of a three-story building. Its muscles bulged, and its arms were as thick as pillars, far bigger than those of a normal person. This transformation made the battle suddenly perilous.

Its two heads were like night and day: one head incredibly handsome, resembling a prince from myths, with exquisite features sparkling like jewels; the other head exuded malevolence, its visage grotesque, eyes shining with demonic red light, baring fangs and claws, revealing terrifying sharp teeth.

Its voice hoarse with anger, it exclaimed, "Bald donkey, how dare you challenge the power of a demon general?"
