Chapter - 43 - Sharing Soup

"...Uh, it doesn't hurt, but I'm dizzy from hunger." Thinking of the questions she just thought about, Tang Li blushed with embarrassment and shyness. She couldn't meet Yi Minghuan's gaze and fidgeted.

"The fish soup should be ready. You should scoop up a bowl to fill your stomach first," Yi Minghuan suggested gently as he pulled back his hand.

"Oh," Tang Li responded with gratitude and was not polite with him. She wasted no time, grabbing a bowl and lifting the pot's lid. The aroma wafting from the soup almost made her mouth water.

It smelled amazing!

She was so hungry that she could gulp it all down in one go.

Swallowing her saliva, Tang Li scolded herself for losing control and being worthless. Sea cucumbers and abalones hadn't tempted her before, yet now she was about to lose her composure over a simple grass carp soup.

Carefully ladling the fish soup into a bowl, Tang Li blew on it to cool it down a bit. She took a sip, closing her eyes in satisfaction.

Delicious! Though, it was still a bit too hot.

Tang Li stuck out her tongue to cool it off and suddenly had an idea. Her mind raced, and she thought about the spiritual spring in the space, which was in the form of deep well water.

What if I add some well water to it? Would it make the fish soup taste even better and more nutritious?

As soon as she had this thought, Tang Li couldn't hold back anymore. She glanced at Yi Minghuan, saw that he was engrossed in tending to the fire and not paying attention to her. She quickly turned around and placed the bowl on the table.

Ensuring that Yi Minghuan couldn't see her subtle actions, Tang Li added a little deep well water to the soup.

The well water was cold, so she hoped it would make the hot soup warm. She also hoped that adding well water like this would be fine.

Tang Li was left speechless by her own clever maneuvering.

After some contemplation, she concluded that it probably wouldn't give her diarrhea. So, she took another cautious sip.

Her eyes instantly lit up! Wow, it tasted amazing!

It was far better than before!

Tang Li couldn't help but take another big gulp. After swallowing, she squinted her eyes in sheer satisfaction.

"Minghuan, try it! This fish soup is delicious!" After two sips, Tang Li didn't want to drink it all by herself. She was determined to share all good things with Yi Minghuan.

She carried the bowl over to him with sparkling eyes, offering it to him and urging, "Come on, I've cooled it down for you. Drink it quickly."

Yi Minghuan met her bright eyes, then looked at the bowl in her hand. He noticed there was still a considerable amount left, even after a few sips.

Apart from his teacher and comrades, she was the first person to offer him her food. Clearly, she was very hungry but she gave him her part of the food. This touched Yi Minghuan's heart.

Wanting her to be his wife seemed like the perfect decision to him.

Taking the bowl from her hand, Yi Minghuan took a sip, his eyes widening in surprise.

He asked incredulously, "Why is it so delicious?"

Tang Li chuckled playfully and responded, "Because I'm a good cook, and I put my heart into it. Of course, the fish you caught is also delicious."

Although Yi Minghuan was still a bit surprised, he appreciated her cooking skills and didn't dwell on the issue.

After taking a few more sips, he handed the bowl back to Tang Li, saying, "I'm not very hungry right now. You finish it."

Tang Li took the bowl and continued to sip her soup, reflecting on how kind they were to each other, passing a bowl of fish soup between them so effortlessly...
