I Don't Like Her

"Tomorrow at Peixing restaurant, I expect you there by 1pm to settle our scores," Feng Houyi said.

Mei Xing's brows furrowed. "What are you up to, Feng Houyi?"

"I love the way you say my name," he teased, feeling delighted with his plan for her. "Bring your lawyer, wifey. Don't be late."

Mei Xing heard a long beep indicating the call had ended. She pulled her phone from her ears and stared at the blank screen with narrowed eyes.

She cradled the phone for a moment longer, the weight of Feng Houyi's words pressing down on her.

A bitter laugh escaped her lips. Settle scores? Feng Houyi was the one who had gambled away her trust and their future like a hand of bad cards.

Divorce.

That was all she wanted, a clean break from the man who felt like a stranger in their home. Yet, the divorce papers lay gathering dust on her lawyer's desk, untouched by Feng Houyi's signature.
