She's Important To Me

Feng Houyi retreated to the plush balcony, the cool night air caressed his flushed skin. Taking a deep breath, he answered the call. "Yes?" His voice was low and gravelly.

"It's me," a man replied.

"Do you have news?" Feng Houyi asked.

"Yes, Mr Feng," the voice replied, a hint of satisfaction lacing the words. "The job is done. Her car was pushed off a cliff. The impact was so strong, I doubt there would be any survivors."

The smirk that played on his lips was devoid of warmth, a chilling contrast to the heated passion he had just shared. He had secured his future, eliminated a threat.

"Very well," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "I'll send your reward soon."

He hung up the phone, the click echoing in the tense silence. A sigh fell out of his lips as his brows pulled together.

He had obtained victory. Why then did he feel hollow? With another sigh, he walked back into the room.
