Her Daring Desires

After ending the call with her father, Mei Xing remained by the window. She tried to think of what schemes her parents were up to.

Why were they suddenly apologetic? She wasn't familiar with the new trait. Or was there something they wanted from her again?

"Is anything wrong?" Lu Aotian asked as he came up behind her.

Mei Xing pushed off the window, turning on her feet to meet his eyes. "It's my... father," she mentioned hesitantly. "He wants to meet and apologise."

Lu Aotian slowly nodded. "Do you want to meet with them?"

Lu Aotian knew of the little feud she had with her family. She spilled a few when he met her at the club and the rest were through his investigation. And he knew it must be hard for her to forgive them.

"It's not like I have a choice. If I don't, they'll come by the office. It's best I just get it over with," she said.
