Nikolai was able to find out that the men lurking around Nichole Kang's family were men sent by his mother simply because Kyle Seo, his driver-slash-bodyguard, recognized one of those men.

Glenn Jang later confirmed that those men were indeed some of the bodyguards working for his mother.

"I'm not sure why our mother is keeping an eye on you," Nikolai said carefully. "But if I have to guess, then I'd say it's probably because our mother is planning to bribe you, Nichole-ssi."

"Bribe me to do what?"

"To disappear?" Nikolai answered hesitantly. "Like I said before, my father is so petty that he won't forgive our mother if he finds out about your existence even if it has been forty years since you were born, Nichole-ssi. Our mother knows that, and that's exactly why she's afraid. So, she'll probably pay to leave the country."

Nichole looked shocked. "Is your mother that evil?"
