3: A whole new world

I stopped smoking weed, and it no longer had any value. Rather, it affected my psyche. I became tired and psychologically exhausted, and I had no choice but to flee the city. I escaped, and my escape was the reason I escaped madness.

I leave the house at six in the morning, heading towards the sea. I carry a bag in which I put a piece of bread and butter, a wine bottle filled with sweet tea, a handkerchief, and a pack of cheap cigarettes (Casa). I walk in the open air, avoiding the road through which people and cars usually pass, from the open area to the forest to a highland to a fishing village to the forest to the seashore in an isolated area where there are no people.

I spend the day exercising, swimming, eating, smoking, and searching for strange things that the sea throws on the beach. At sunset I return to where I came from,In the midst of darkness that frightens the brave, and the barking of dogs. I arrive home at nine o'clock in the evening. I take a quick shower, eat the food that my mother left in my room, then pack the things for tomorrow's trip, and sleep like a little child.

Three months passed and I followed this daily routine. The muscles in my body became prominent and a blush of blood appeared on my cheeks. My structure strengthened and my mood improved. I accepted my fate and surrendered my affairs to my Lord and was satisfied with what He had written for me. A few days later, as I was returning from the sea on foot as usual, I passed by the fishing port and saw my father fishing Eel. I was happy to see him. So I quickly headed towards him. I hugged him and sat next to him and we talked about the sea and fishing. Everyone who passed by us called him and told him that I was his son, with a smile of pride illuminating his eyes. Then I said goodbye to him and announced my return home. He asked me to stay until we returned together on his dilapidated motorcycle, and so that I wouldn't get bored, he gave me his second rod to have fun and hunt. I gave in to the matter, I loved him and I could not refuse his request. It was only a few seconds before I caught a big fish. Before I put it inside the bag, someone stopped and asked about its price. I was going to answer him that I do not sell fish. My father told him that its price was thirty dirhams, so that person took out a plastic bag from his jacket pocket and put the fish inside it. He handed my father the agreed-upon money and left happily.

My father gave me the money and said: Take money for your hunting, you need money. It made me happy, and it was the beginning of my entry into the wondrous world of hunting. There is unparalleled money, pleasure, and psychological comfort, the mind is clear, and the thought is free of triviality.
