Chapter 48 : My Little Trickster

Erik’s POV

After the feast, bellies full and warm with mead, I would say it went well. Poppy seemed thrilled to meet my people and they seemed excited to meet my wife. The woman who stole me away from my bachelor life.

While my people respected the marital bond, especially since Poppy wore my armband as well as the braid I knotted through her fiery red locks, it was hard to miss the seething glares from some or several of my past flings.

I noticed how her grip would tighten on my thigh when she noticed the looks. Something I was sure she’d take out on me later. I couldn’t wait. Jealousy was quite the look on her and I was going to take advantage of that when we were alone.

We took our time strolling back to the longhouse, bathed in moonlight, reminding me very much of the first time I saw Poppy in a different light. The night she made me climb the Ancient Alder tree with her.
